Hey all I’ve been wondering this for a while now, does confusion affect Weapon swings or button presses?? Like say a warrior uses 100B will confusion damage him once for the button press or will it hit him 6 times (or however many swings are in 100B)? Does anyone know this?
Thanks in advance
As many times as he swings his blade.
Same for Pistol Whip. Not sure about Blurred Frenzy.
Strange, I thought it was per-skill-use. Not per actual swing, as some skills have multiple swings.
Mind you, I haven’t really payed attention to its effect in PvP recently, so I may be completely wrong on that.

It’s per skill use. People just don’t really pay attention to how it works. It does in fact only hit once with 100B, Blurred Frenzy. I can’t say 100% on Pistol Whip but considering it’s the same mechanics.

I Kinda sure its / swing mate, atleast for blurred frenzy and should be for other abilitys aswell. Look at this vid at 1:30-1:45, the blurred friency at 1:37~tick confusion 8 times.

Lol ok I’m glad it’s not me being the only one confused on this issue, so it is per blade swing??
thats wierd. 100b ticks one time, I’m pretty sure about that. on the other hand osi’s video shows some crazy numbers, 200 and 400 with the same stack of confusion? and I’m “pretty” sure in my experience blurred frenzy triggers one confusion tick.
but I have seen people doing nothing and a cloud of confusion ticks come frome them….
It is per skill use. This also includes traits which activate skills automatically, such as on dodge traits or <25% traits, etc. Note that this means if you spam a skill use you will get hit with confusion at a ridiculous rate, such as your auto-attack button. Never spam a skill when you are faced with a heavy confusion user.
Watch that video closely: when he gets hit with all that confusion it’s because he is spamming 1-1-1-1 while in blurred frenzy and after. I know someone who had a macro to activate a key 20 times repeatedly who died instantly when he first went against a confusion user.

Confusion damage is per skill use not per hit. Auto attacking counts as a skill use as well, but in cases like 100b and blurred frenzy it’s 1 hit per skill use.

That’s exactly what I just said. Or are you quoting me just as part of responding?

LOL I wish I was there to witness that. I would have laughed so hard.
Anyway i’ve been curious as to the exact effect that confusion had so thank you and others for the useful information

I should clarify since I actually didn’t get what happened in the video correctly.
1:30 hit with confusion due to autoattack
1:33 two confusion procs from attack + lightning sigil proc
1:33-1-35 several procs from Illusionary Leap + swap + Frenzy + shatter
My speculation though unconfirmed at the moment is that shattering with Illusionary Persona procs confusion multiple times as well. This video actually doesn’t demonstrate the dangers of spamming a button though it does show that procs from sigils and passives can trigger undesired confusion.
It’s per skill usage.
But there’s a silver enemy in HotW that does an underwater spin attack that ticks confusion on every hit, he kills himself in like two seconds even with just 3~5 stacks. Shows how broken it could be.
Per skill usage.
Note that Confusion inflicted by each Illusion shows up as a separate Confusion splat, so if you’re using Trident Clones, iMage and/or Confusing Combatants you may see multiple Confusion splats for one skill activation.
