Does mesmers need a tone down?
The Mesmer’s DPS is higher but its burst is not. Since Mesmer DPS was one of the lowest out of all professions that isn’t a problem.
It’s more forgiving yes, because a big part of Chronomancy is improving the Mesmer’s survivability (hence why it gives access to the Shield). Again seeing as that’s the point of Chronomancy, not a problem.
(Numbers are subject to change of course. I feel Mesmer bunker might be a bit too survivable compared to Guard bunker, but on the flip side it doesn’t have the same team fight presence so it probably balances out. It’s a more selfish type of bunker, if you will.)

From a pvp prespective, mesmer damage didnt increase with chrono. Shatters/skills does the same dmg. Yet shatter accuracy and access to interrupts (shield#5 and gravity well) to trigger power block is higher. Also you have access to quickness so you perform actions faster.
in Pve well really helps to increase sustained dps. ~1k more in a 30s fight

A well-prepared Mind Wrack has a lot more impact than one that’s used on CD. Not saying the reduced CDs across the board isn’t powerful but it’s not like you’re going to be executing 100% perfect bursts every 6s… except against Golems I guess, which Anet seems to have an unfortunate predilection to base their balancing on.

My endurance regen is the same. My clone production is kinda the same (just a bit faster CDs due to 1~2secs alacrity per shatter) yet it is tied to weapon skills that have other pruposes than just generate clones for shatters-.
I didnt use IR or CP or AWEW traits. Alacrity have a low impact on my build.
To claim mind wrack has a 6s cd means you have 100% alacrity uptime. And to have 100% alacrity uptime you have to build for it, around it. Probably slot multiple wells. SO, i dont see any problem in having mind wrack at 6s cd when you build for it…
One thing you can be sure. I wont spam shatters just for the sake of alacrity. I will still use them when i want the shatter effect rather than just for alacrity. Alacrity is just a marginal bonus.

I really feel like the Mesmer community is just so good at their class by now they make it look stronger and harder to counter (this doesn’t include me. XD I’m still learning).
I fought a few Chrono on my Druid. 1 I couldn’t sustain with full toughness and heals. 2 others, I actually downed them with very little power. This tells me straight away that it’s all about the person behind the keyboard. If it was “OP” or “overtuned” anyone could win with it regardless.
Just the real mesmers the ones who want to make it work still stick with mesmer… I believe they develop natural awareness and skill with the class.
Cause theres always the easy way of just reroll to a more straightforward/easy/effective class… in every game mode.. except screenshots. Mesmer still the most beautifull class.

Chronomancer is more like a gattling gun now. But the counterplay is still exactly the same. Mesmer has always been the most fun class for me. To play with for just “kittenz and giggles” since all of its utility and for the portal for JPs. Biggest problem for me has always been the lack of survivability in PvE and the lack of DPS with Chrono it fixes all of that. And makes Shattering worth it even in PvE. For PvP it just changed from going into stealth all the time to become blocking all the time :p
So I’m in love with it. Even more so than Reaper. With Chrono I’m always smiling. Only thing I would argue is too strong is the Illusion Adept 2 skill, shatter a phantasm reduces it’s cooldown by 2 seconds. It makes certain skills have essentially non-existance CD with alacrity. (As long as you mange to shatter). So reducing it to 1 second. Still makes it able to remove 3 seconds from a skill with just 1 shatter. Which is still plently good. It just don’t become a spamable mess.
