Does anyone have first hand example how condition builds behave in dungeons? While I do expect them to be below power builds, exactly how much worse are there? The main condi pressure mesmer deals comes form torment and confusion and well, NPCs usually don’t move much to tick the latter and I am not sure how their auto attacks affect the former.
So, if anyone has successfully ran condie in dunegon and if so, with what build?

Successful condi builds in dungeons actually rely more on bleeds from Sharper Images (dueling minor) from clones/iDuelist/iWarden and Winds of Chaos (staff AA) from self/clones. Winds of Chaos also happens to add some burns that add decently to dps.

It’s not meta-competitive (yet), but for anything less it performs just fine. I’ve run most paths in it without much trouble. The only difficulty I have is killing structures (like burrows in AC), but that’s because I run it in my Rabid set, which I have for open-world and WvW. If you have a good group, you can do just fine in Sinister, which won’t have much trouble with structures.

Check frifox’s youtube channel for nice demonstrations on condi in dungeons. As explained, and you probably know it as well, mesmer’s torment and confusion isn’t working so well for NPC so they have to use bleed to stack damage.

  • iDuelist takes a while to ramp and they’re usually cleaved very soon, making them not exactly effective in dungeon. Not to mention iWarden against most bosses.
  • WoC spam is good in solo and very easy to play, allowing you to pay more attention to boss etc. Unfortunately as the party size increase you start to give allies minor boons instead of viable dps.
