Guild Wars 2

I was fighting a mesmer yesterday and I swear I saw 4 Illusions and the Mesmer. I think he went in for a shatter but I shadow refuge so I had time to count them all. Is there a way to exceed the 3 illuions cap?

Shouldn’t the newly summoned clones replace the existing ones?

Once an illusion has been earmarked for shatter, it no longer exists as an illusion, and can be considered as an attack en route to its target.

The maximum amount of clones I’ve ever have. And yes, when illusions are sent to be shattered, they don’t count as illusions summoned, so you can summon more.
