Exploding Clones ?!
If you trait for either Debilitating Dissipation or Crippling Dissipation (Domination V), the clones will explode instead of just fade away when killed or replaced.
I agree that the animation and the sound effect can get annoying, especially when the clones automatically expire after combat, when their target is killed.
I agree that the explosion can be annoying – it doesn’t really fit the “refined” theme of the class.
Explosion? Do you mean as in shatters?

No, the flashbang-grenade-like explosions for debilitating dissipation, crippling dissipation and confusing combatants.
I like the explode effect and it goes with the manifesto’s visually meaningful combat. Although I’m not sure how you’d treat an exploding clone different than a non-exploding one… I mean the goal is to get the real mesmer after all.
My real problem with the clones is lack of off-hand weapon. Especially when you are using a torch, it’s really easy to spot the real mesmer.
I’m on the fence about this. One one hand, I prefer the shatter effect as it is far more artistic and even elegant. It truly fits the mesmer MO. However, the traited explosions have a visceral feel. When they go boom and something next to them dies, it just feels more satisfying.

Yeah, I have to agree with that. I really do love the butterflies, but the over-write explosions are just really nice and solid.
While i like the sound effect and explosion (its some variation to the things ive always been hearing), theres something missing…
Oh, i know: purple!. Id like it if they made the explosion purple, or magbe even use the torch prestige explosionn^__^. Thr explosions miss butterflies, too!

I would love the explosions removed!
Instead:
- If you have Debilitating Dissipation, clones shatter into a burst of glass shards which flies outwards (compared to the normal animation where they sort-of break apart in place).
- If you have Crippling Dissipation, clones fade into a swarm of butterflies which does one quickly circle before fading.
If you have both, butterflies explode outwards.
This trait is a joke because conditions applied are pure crap. If it had something like apply burning for 3sec/poison 3sec/1stack of confusion 3sec/3stacks of bleeding 3sec then it would be worth taking

AoE weakness no longer is crap, it’s actually pretty good, but yeah the other two suck a bit (though it amuses me when someone comes and AE mindlessly and receives an extra 9 stacks of bleeds…)
Re the explosion, I like the idea of exploding glass shards instead.

It is a shame these explosions do not give you a chance to act as a blast finisher. That would be sweet!
