What will happen if Continuum Split is activated before a mesmer shapeshifts. Like into a giant bear.

Will it:

a) Do nothing, aka canceling the effect (sort of expected).
b) Keeps you in your shapeshifted form, but teleports you back (probably messing with your health points, as they are different in forms).
c) Kicks you out of the form, ports you back and tells you to try harder next time.
d) Something.

While I am fairly sure that we cannot use Continuum Shift actively while shapeshifted (as we cannot use any other shatter skill while transformed), it is still on a countdown and the rift can be destroyed to force the effect.

So what is going to happen?

People are going to run one of their superior Elites and not worry about it, I imagine.

I suspect it will keep the form, question is whether the cooldown starts as you cast or after you switch out.

For health there are 2 options i can imagine:

1. save health on a percentage basis leading to:
   mesmer saves 100% of hp → transforms and takes dmg → loads the “100%” → 100% of the transformations health.
2. save health as absolute number leading to:
   mesmer saves 15k hp → transforms into something with 20k hp. → loads 15k hp

I really hope it’s a method based on percents because there are trolls in WvW and I can tell now that if it is possible to do so, they will Split → Enter Siege Golem → reset hp to 15k-20k hp

I do have a number of scrolls and tomes around, the question is do I wish to waste them on playing a norn mesmer through HoT story, the bad parts of LS2 and eh personal story isn’t that bad.

Edit: Wait Ross has a billion norn mesmers (we’ve seen the videos, you can’t hide them) why doesn’t he try it out tonight?

Everything was MUCH slower, I guess. There was definitely time to think in a more skillful, calculated way. As opposed to “spam my AoE skills” and “rotate through my defensive skills”.

The best you could do with it is take PU, and only use it when CS is off CD to keep Snow Leopards CD to 90 (or less- thanks alacrity) seconds.

CS, leopard form, hit 5 for stealth, CS ends, hit 5 again, run away/whatever, leave elite alone until CS comes off CD.

so I had a play around with sylvari racial skills, looks like you can double the amount of npcs with that skill (10 seed turrets or 2 druid spirits). Anyone checked seed turret damage?

Ok, seeing as we’re sharing these things, if you’re a human mesmer equip hounds of balthazaar. Find a place with 2+ adrenal mushrooms close together, cast hounds and CS just before the cast ends, return after the cast ends, resummon hounds. Then take adrenal mushroom and repeat.

Enjoy having 8-12 hounds of balthazaar following you around. A good place to do this is the hero point at the very bottom of verdant brink with the chumpion.
