F5 combos?
I feel f5 is waaaay to situational for combos in PvP.
However, assuming you’re free to cast etc, running Chronophantasmal-
Pistol 4
swap
GS 4
Gravity Well
f5 before channel ends
MoD to stun target in Gravity Well
be running at target, do standard GS mirror blade, F1 shatter, mind stab combo
whatever
With this you can get 2x phant attacks + Gravity well + shatter burst, and some reset in there.
The only thing I manage to do with f5 is trigger it right after I trigger gravity well since they have the same cooldown. It takes a lot of time to get use to this shatter I must say.
A powerful but difficult tool.
I like saving F5 for clutch survival actually – for example one occasion in stronghold I was going to die among enemies in their lane but hit F5 and blinked towards them causing them to follow for a short distance, then reversed F5 and blinked away in the opposite direction, allowing escape and survival (got out of combat and regen’d).
But sometimes, as I play condition most of the time now, I go the default route of blink + shatter spam while in F5 to put the enemy on the back foot while retaining the ability to burst apply condis a second time.
Defense: The possibilities are many. Double blink. Double decoy and Mirror Images. Pop shatters for condi cleanse (Inspiration line), and reset them with F5.
Offense: Double elite skill (I drop Time Warp twice in PvE). Tides of Time (shield skill 5) twice for great aoe control/damage/quickness and be sure to touch both returning waves for -20sec to the recharge.
If I’m aiming to maximize the use for F5, I aim to pop all of my instant casts (clone generators and shatters) and use one cast ability (like Time Warp) during the allotted time.
For defense, don’t forget double well of eternity. You don’t get 2 full heals, but you get like 1.7 heals.
F5 is also good for spamming Mantra and unloading Signet.
Imho f5 is more like offensive tool then defensive. It could be used as defense tool too, but preferably when have near full health yet. Using it when being low hp is very risky move, enemy would be probably waiting near rift to burst after rift disappears or just killing rift.
No double blink away, not works with mantra correctly iirr.

Double precog is also quite good (although I don’t use precog right now).
Blurred Frenzy (as it finishes) → F5 → 10 → F4 + 9 → 8 + F3→ 7 + F2 → 6 + F1 → Blurred Frenzy → 5 →F5 → 5 → 9 → 8 → 7 → 6 → Blurred Frenzy
That was probably the best combo I ever pulled off. Utilities being TW + All damaging wells + well heal for Alacrity. Weapon being Shield for the double ToT reset.
It is possible to pull off that entire combo but it requires your CS to extend the duration (sometimes it lasts 6-9 seconds which is a little bit after the buff icon disappears).

So anyway pretty much this is why I said: situational.
Or we could take a trip back to the 90’s where Esplen’s combo was already explained (wait for the 50s mark)

Oh, mine is PvE because I’m a scrublord.
F5 → Time Warp, Mimic, Well of Action, Well of Recall, Well of Action (F5 trigger) Time Warp, Recall, Well of Action, Well of Recall, Well of Action
enjoy being a time lord
and refuses to spare the life in return for the surrender at discretion (unconditional surrender)
of a vanquished opponent.
I think if you open a rift at full health in pve and stand next to it… It will die to AOEs before you do, making it a free 15k heal should you turn out to need it. Either that, or I always time it that way by accident.
