Favorite skill/ Most hated
Favourite ability:
Mirror Blade – Does decent damage, provides Vulnerability as well as Might and also creates a clone. A very versatile ability that can be utilized in most builds and with it’s short cooldown can be used often.
Least favourite ability:
(Outside of abilities that I don’t use due to them not fitting into builds I’ve been playing)
Spatial Surge – I don’t like how you need to be near max range to get the most out of it (At that range, Mirror Blade won’t be as effective as it won’t bounce back to you, also Mirror Image illusions have a longer distance to travel) I don’t like how it does only single target damage (It will go through other enemies to hit your target but won’t harm them) and I don’t like how the greatsword isn’t swung, instead it is used to fire lasers (Sure, lasers are cool, but it makes me feel disconnected from the weapon itself, especially when Mirror Blade, Mind Stab and Illusionary Wave all use various sword swings/stab)
There’s two kinds of people… The quick and the dead”
Favorite Skill – Decoy
The ability to use it to foil opponents burst from hundred blades/back stab is always fun, the crazy positioning hyjinx with illusionary wave is fun as well. And in a pinch you can use it to spawn a clone for more burst or a critical daze/distortion.
Least Favorite – Mass invisibility
Compared to the other two Mesmer elites it is by far the worst. It has the shortest CD, but compared to the strength of time warp in a team fight and Moa when soloing or in a 1 v 1, it is far worse. maybe if it spawned clones and made you go invisible it would be looked at…but it’s honestly worse than decoy.
^ Mass invisabillity is great in team battles, use it just as you portal bomb an enemy zerg to get 100% suprise attack.
Favourite Skill: Blurred Frenzy
Does a quick 2-3k damage while granting 2 seconds of invulnerability, use this when the enemy is casting something big. Has a quick cooldown and works great with using #3 on the sword (whatever its called, I forgot :P) first to slow them down.
Most hated Skill: Gsword #3
Rips one boon off anyone in a tiny area, (one person max) and does a small amount of damage, why not just use #1 on the sword to rip a boon off them? no cooldown and same, maybe more damage. Terrible skill needs changing heaps, maybe 300 radius AoE that deals damage and rips boon off enemies over 5 seconds, that would be much better.

Favorite Skill: Temporal Curtain / Into the Void
Curtain gives you so many options for control, combo, or just mobility that it’s hard to gauge it’s power. Into the Void gives you even more control and just ices the power of the core ability.
Most Hated Skill: Mimic
This ability has such niche uses, it’s so rarely useful that it will be on almost no ones bar, and even when it is it’s uses are so limited as to be both very hard to use well, and very difficult to be used when you need it most. It would almost be a high skill cap skill IF it wasn’t so limited in timing to get best benefit out of it.

Fav skill: Phase Retreat because this skill is da bwosssss. Worst skill: Mind Stab (duhhhh lol). My fav utility for pve is mirror and decoy for pvp. Fav Trait would be Deceptive Evasion, i wouldn’t be playing mesmer if this skill wasn’t on one of the mesmer trees.
My favourite skill would be Chaos Storm, due to its crowd control abilities and boons.
Least favourite skill is Illusionary Leap, the range is really short and the clone has really hard time navigating any other surface than flat, making it hard to use.

Most favorite: Feedback because it makes me feel like that playground bully that holds a kid down while slapping him with his own hands and saying, “Quit hitting yourself! Quit hitting yourself!”
Least favorite: Illusionary Wave because, while the skill itself sounds great, the damage is laughable and mid to late game, everyone and their momma has stability so it’s becomes near useless.
Favorite: Decoy. Even though it isn’t perfect, I love how fun it can be to use, and how it serves as an ICE button.
Least Favorite: Mind Stab. It is a joke, though, admittedly, an awesome-looking joke.

Favorite: Arcane Thievery. I love bringing this skill in PvE. So many enemies have great, long lasting boons. Since I trait 10 into Chaos anyway, I can cut the recharge down on it, removing one of its drawbacks.
Hated: Illusion of Life. Never have a reason to use this.
