I’m around level 20+ only right now feeling somewhat kittened though having fun.

1. When fighting mobs, is it better to concentrate your clones on one enemy then shattering or quickly spawn clones for each enemy then shattering?

2. During bosses or champions, when all your phantasms are up and your phantasms are halfway recharging, is it more DPS to let them auto attack or shatter already and build your clones/phantasms up all over again?

1) Clones themselves do almost no damage. But I generally try to make everything die at once. Kite in circles grouping up the 3 or so mobs into a clump. Then they can all get hit my one chaos storm, staff auto-attack bounce, sword #2, shatter, etc.

2) If you have 3 phantasm, just leave them. If you have a mix and the c/ds are up, you can shatter. It really comes down to where your point allocation is. Clones are really just shatter fodder, rather than doing much with their auto-attacks.

Shattering 2p+1c everytime your phantasm cooldowns are up after the phantasms fire their attacks is more DPS than letting 3p pew pew pew pew, unless you have Phantasmal Haste.

Either way it’s more effort though, so for DE champs I usually just summon 3 then afk. It’s PvE after all.

During those levels things are tougher and you are also getting used to your skills. On GS I am a shatter build (only level 50) and I start with GS generally throwing out a mirror blade which gets a clone out there and quickly grabs the mobs attention. almost at the same time I get my phantasm out and in a moment or two he gets some damage out. You can then hit 3 which is a damage to the mob that will in general get the mobs attention onto you (you should be a good distance from the mob i should say). This allows your clone and phantasm to hopefully still be alive. By this time your mirror blade should be back up which at that time I am seeing if my phantasm is about to attack again or not. If it doesn’t look like it is gearing up to attack I then shatter them and I have phantasm at the ready to bring him up and I will bring him up and then switch to my other weapon set or use #5 skill to interrupt him and get some distance.

On boss fights I am constantly bombing in between my other skills.
