For FotM I use Blink and Decoy, overkill ?
decoy not needed
i use blink, feedback or nullfield, then either signet of inspiration or a mantra.
You should be switching them around as needed. Nothing wrong with two stun breakers.
Like you, I can’t live without Blink. I switch the other two frequently based on fights.
If I know the boss has buff (protection/regen/25 stack might), I will get both Null Field and Arcane Thievery
Feedback when dealing with range
Mantra of Concentration when I need stability in Cliffside Fractal
Portal when breaking the arm seals
Viel when my group is skipping content
etc..
etc.. I try not to stealth because you are pushing aggro to your team. I tend to spam Phantasmal Defender.. It is an amazing meat shield.
Blink never gets off my skill bar. All other utilities change on the situation.
Simply adapt. Nothing better than getting 25 might off a boss with Arcane thievery and sharing it with your group members using signet of inspiration.
Sometimes you want more condition removal, sometimes more flexibility. We have most of the tools available, so make good use of them.

The worst thing about this is because Null field is needed in almost all fractals, but I just can’t stop using Decoy…I will try it tonight though.
Also,I want to change my utilities when needed but I never remember to do it before the fight,so…when we start the boss and I still have portal sometimes it just sux. >.>
but yeah,I will try it,because if I think about it,decoy never breaks aggro for me,and what kills me is always AoE not direct attack,so decoy is pretty useless actually. (but the stun break is great)
Thanks for the replies!
switch skills for certain situations but i personally run null field/feedback/mirror the most for conbo fields and maximum amount of shatter spam.
I usually run blink/null/feedback for the most part in FOTM. Blink is invaluable because you can blink out of situations if you make a bad decision or blink over to a downed ally to res faster. Especially given that mesmers don’t get speed boosts like other classes.

I use decoy and mirror imagines for FOTM. Then my 3rd slot varies from Defender to Portal, to Feedback
Blink doesn’t ever leave my bar, and I also have to have either null field or arcane thievery. I feel naked and weak without blink and condition removal.
Last utility depends on what I am doing, usually I take feedback or mirror images if I don’t need feedback.
I change my skills for every fractal and often also in the fractal, you should be adapting on what is needed at the moment.
I use Blink and decoy for general open world PvE, now that is overkill.

What you call overkill, I call the best way to navigate the open world. In fact, it’s not overkill because focus+blink+decoy+DE is the best (only?) way to keep up with all those +25% run speed/perma-swift guys, especially through maps loaded with hostiles, like Orr.

i usually run with signet of inspiration, feedback and null field, in about anywher really, sometimes i swap out feedback (if i know for sure there is no ranged mobs, or null field if i know there is no conditions on us/no boons on enemies, rarely for null field to go thoguh feedback more likely) that said i use staff as main weapon so got the phase retreat if i need a fast tele sometimes, and uses a full superior rune of lyssa, so popping feedback+signet of ins after is tons of boons to whole party on top of quickness <3
Always have mirror images and blink, and change my last one to a skill I may need on that level, like the swamp map, I use portal as last skill, can also change to some other skill in the boss fight after
Someone say game crash must be related to OOM
when you read the log it’s not related to that whatsoever…
Signet of Inspiration along with the trait that removes a condition everytime you heal is awesome, I get tons of condition removal as a passive with that
