For the newbies - what's "iZerker"?
Phantasmal Berserker, great sword skill 4.
Yeah, and “i” is for “illusions/ illusionary”. I did not get that a few month ago and thought it would have been there, because of the coolness like in iPhone or whatever.. xD
iZerker is Phantasmal Berzerker, which is the 4th skill using a Greatsword. It is a Phantasm that summons right next to your target and does in area of affect (AoE) damage by doing a spin in a straight line.
The current problems are:
1. After any phantasm is summoned, there is a delay before it attacks. Because it is spawned in melee range of your target, it often gets attacked and killed by both NPC’s and players easily before it can do any damage at all.
2. With the change to all illusions, it now requires line-of-sight LoS to summon, so if your target is in and out of LoS, when you cast it it may fail to even summon, putting the skill on cooldown and you without a Phantasm. This is why it is very difficult to summon on tower/keep walls now as it often fails due to LoS which puts the skiln on cooldown and makes Mesmers mostly useless for sieging.
3. With the recent change, all Illusions (clones & phantasms) may not spawn because your target goes out of LoS, gets obstructed, dodges, goes invulnerable or you get blinded.
4. iBerserker also seems to be missing a lot more than prior to the 3/12 patch. I believe it is supposed to hit it’s target up to 4 times but it often just hits much lower than this now.
Not sure if I missed anything else.

OK, thanks – I was wondering if it referred to the skill (I would have expected something different since they’re PHANSTASMAL, not “illusionary” in the skill name), or a build, or what. Makes sense now – thanks a million!
Yeah all clones and phantasms are Illusions but often the phantasms have “i” placed in front of them for some reason.
iWarden, izerker or iBerzerker, iMage, iSwordsman, etc.
I have seen them referred to as: pWarden, pBerzerker, pMage as well.
I blame Apple.

Would you say its’ an ALLUSION to apple products?
Yup, Apple should patent the iword – procecute any use of words starting with ‘i’. Then there will be no confusion
It is because all phantasms were called Illusionary XXX back in the betas. Anet changed that some time before release but players were used to it already.
You can still find this reference from the two underwater phantasms.
