Hey guys, I am looking to make a Fractal Condi build, but having trouble finding something. I typically run my Necro in T4s and wanted to gear both a Ranger and Mesmer for T4 as well. I already have a Power based Mesmer and would love to play Condi. Is there a viable T4 Fractal Condi build atm? If so, could someone please point me in the right direction or post a link?

Short answer: no

Long answer: kinda. Condie Mesmer is a build you can play, but it’s exclusively single target and sacrifices the normal support utility that people expect Mesmers to bring.

The single target nature is obviously an issue for many fractal encounters. You end up utterly useless for clearing trash which actually gets dangerous in a T4. This makes you a total waste of space in aquatic ruins, uncategorized, urban battleground, cliffside, normal aetherblade, and much of volcanic.

The other issue is that groups will expect you to be providing chrono support. Condie Mesmer cannot do this, so that could be a problem for some groups. The other problem there is that the chrono support will generally add far more to a party than condie Mesmer can, so you’re better off playing that anyway.

I expected that answer. I will have to wait on the Condi Mes for Fractals then. I will just play the Power one. I like Sword anyways~

Not sure what you mean, Necro condie is perfectly viable in fractals. I believe that OP was simply looking for another build to play condie on for some variety.

Edit: On a closer reading of the OP, I now see your point. Yeah, necro condie is extremely viable in T4 fractals. One could argue that condie necro is possibly the most powerful carry class in the game for T4 fractals actually. If you’re just looking for a condie build to play, look no farther than necro.

Yeah Fay, you were correct on your first line. I play a Viper Necro in T4s, but was looking for some more variety. I main the Necro, and have played it since launch. Unfortunately, because I really only play Necro (more than half my play time on one character), its the only class I have geared for T4 fractals.

I was hoping there was a secret, hidden T4 Condi build for the Mesmer, but it’s okay. I will gear a support power build from Metabattle and run that.

Start with p5 so that MoD and F3 can recharge it. Or use focus 4. AOE interrupt stack huge confusion vs trash mobs and preventing them from doing dangerous kitten to your team. Blind also stops that from happening. Shatters blind, confuse and torment. Sigil of geomancy for aoe bleeds on weapon swap.

For bosses:
Can swap focus to shield or torch depending. Swap to PH. TW instead of well of gravity against bosses. Swap MoD to well of recall or mimic. The fractal mobility potion gives 15% boon duration. That’s 30+33% which is “enough” traditional chrono support.

Minor things: Wells don’t work in the aquatic ruins.
Gear can be further optimized depending on how much of your damage comes from confusion vs bleeds: swap to sinister as you have a trait that gives 33% bonus confusion duration.

You can actually play full support condi chrono. :-D
But in the end it’s just the same group support/low personal damage as the power build, doing condition damage instead. So it’s not really worth building a whole new set of gear for it…

Don’t try to make a condi Chrono. It will just be inferior to the power one in absolutely every way. A condi Mesmer is a dps profession and has nothing to do with the support Chrono.

As others have mentioned, you’ll be barely useful for trash mobs. You still got the focus pull and some interrupt / shatter burst into scepter #3, but that’s about it. But to be fair, that’s most of the time already enough to deal with trash.

Depending on the fractal, you can run a condi Mesmer and be efficient though. Fractals like Thaumanova, Molten Duo or Nightmare (CM) are your friends.

While against large hitboxes Eles will definitly outdamage you, I’m pretty confident that you’ll be max dps against all other bosses in T4 that can’t just be phased / bursted down (unfortunately a lot of them can be :/). Don’t go condi in lower tiers, since everything just get bursted while you’re still setting up.

Shield is a must on every Chrono. You also need a total of at least ~90% boon duration for perma Quickness.
