Full Celestial Vs. Half Celestial
Half celestial, since it’s more berserker like. PvE you should go full zerk / kitten, but if you ask full cele or half cele, half cele it is :/

For mesmer, no cele. It just doesn’t work well. You aren’t using all the stats effectively and the strength in cele is usually that you have everything decent. If you have half the stats bad and half meh, then its just going to be bad. Generally for PvE I don’t think cele is good? On ele, cele works well because they can have wow damage too due to might stacking, which you have no ways of doing on mesmer, only way is via Bountiful Interruption but that isn’t as consistant.
Sometimes I get confused as to how many say to go full berserker but then I see people in other threads talk of using other stats for their mesmer too.
Eh, as a Mes player who does occasionally use Cele gear, I’d say Trinkets. Especially if you’re getting regular gold/commendations/laurels … it’s easier to get multiple sets of Trinkets.
[Although, Jurica and others aren’t wrong, RE: Cele stats. Mainly, a Mes is a walking waste of Healing Power, stat-wise. Mightstacking is mediocre, at best. You’re mainly going Cele to get either “kinda”-zerker or “kinda”-condi.]

Not so sure about “walking waste of healing power”, myself. In theory, mesmers are actually pretty good at turning healing power into healing per second, if not some of the best.
The main issue, as I see it, is that all of the high heal per second per point of healing power options for mesmers are things that would be very hard to use to their full potential in PvP or WvW, and in PvE, there aren’t that many places where a load of healing per second would be appreciated.
You should have options to make use of both power and condi damage at the same time — pistol is an obvious one if you can pull off a decent crit chance, and the staff throws out condis while also providing a nasty power attack.
But I don’t think cele is something I’d go all-in as.

Full zerker is for PvE only, but it’s the only good option for PvE (zerker/assasins are essentially identical).
Other stats are viable/optimal for other types of play, but for PvE, glass cannon is the way to go.

I would say healing power is a great stat if you can keep up the regen boon since it scales pretty well with healing power. So basically PU + Phantasmal Healing. But that doesn’t leave much room to be able to do damage, Ive been thinking about a Scepter/Torch + Scepter/Pistol Cele build with Malicious Sorcery but haven’t gotten around to trying it.
So PvE = Full Zerker/Assassins
As for PvP (spvp and wvw), Any and/or some combination of the following
- Zerker
- Knights
- Valkarie
- Cavalier
- Soldiers (for say a Commander build)
- Rabid
- Dire
So say Zerk weapons, zerk armor, rabid trinkets.
Or Zerk weapons, zerk armor, cav trinkets.
In my power WvW build using scepter/torch + GS I’m about 1/5 to 1/4 cele for some survivability. But that’s it.
i’m currently running all celestial accessories with a mix of knights/zerker together with GS and staff, and the mantra healing and phantasm regen traits. I feel like it’s pretty effective – nice AOE spike damage and nearly spammable 3K AOE heals… i like it.
