GS Autoattack: huge (and wrong) numbers
The dmg indicated adds up if you continue to attack without stop. The dmg you are doing is still the same.

Yeah this is well known and been reported as a bug. No extra damage is done.
Anet made some behind-the-scenes change to the time limit for the running total damage. Engineer flamethrower continuously fired also demonstrates this running total.
It’s the same mechanic that adds up duelist unloads or blurred frenzy damage. It’s not a bug that it exists, just that it’s occurring.
Elementalist has the same problem with scepter air auto attack.
it’s a new bug. The damage will keep building up as long as you don’t interrupt auto attack with another skill. It never did that before.
Whoa, seems to be happening to thieves using unload in quick succession as well. Was wondering how I was getting 15k single shots. Thanks for posting.

You can use it as an easy way to get an idea of how much health a boss (or any mob) has.
UI shows more and more damage, but the damage of battle log is correct.
