What is ‘’the best’’ secondary? staff or GS. I feel like GS does alot more dmg, but also makes you sort of a glasscanon,+ berserker is not as good as warlock. Any suggestions?

The staff is a great all around weapon, but the GS might have more synergy. GS would stack the same stats as sword and excels when you get out of sword range.

not sure, because traits makes me a glass cannon and i dont know how much difference 250 extra thoughness makes

Another important question, what is this for, PvE, PvP or WvW?

I’m partial to Sword/Focus with Staff. Focus is awesome for dealing with ranged attacks and sword is good for upclose. Staff is great for tougher targets, ie Veterans & up as they hit pretty hard, but this is mainly for PvE. I would think that against humans they’re too easy to dodge or kill.

If it’s against AI I’d go with Staff. If it’s against humans I’d go with Greatsword.

Personally if your main is sword, I’d think staff would work better as a backup. Staff gives you more defensive options and isn’t hurt by being in close range. I guess it’d really depend on how you fight and how you’re traited.

yh, been testing things out and i find myself using the gs mor as a mainhand than a offhand

Im assuming youre in melee range or close to it If you’re suing Sw/Pistol so Im definitely going to say staff. You can use it at any range, pump out tons of clones and you get all the defensive abilities. Plus chaos storm is just yummy for melee range.

If you pick GS you have to worry about being at max range all of a sudden. I really only like GS for huge dragon DEs. Staff all the way for everything else.
