Ghost Support: A PU build
PU builds can be really fun. I have only played around with them a little bit and I haven’t been able to dream up a role in tPvP that they really excel at yet.
So far it seems like the closest thing to a good fit for a PU build is a far point troll that is just incredibly hard to kill and can disengage with stealth at will if the node gets too hot, then reset and return. In a Shaman’s ammy you can get enough condi-damage to eventually wear an opponent down while still being tanky and slippery enough to out live pretty much every 1v1 and at least disengage and probably stalemate most 2v1s at the node, but you just struggle to get neuts and caps really hard because you are so reliant on stealth.
With the right team it might be manageable to run one and just focus on winning the midfight by collapsing your close point defender strategically, while leaving the Mesmer on an island to troll far. It would force them to send a second back to their home node to try to kill you (thus giving an advantage at mid), but it takes too long to drop the opponent’s close node defender (even though you win the 1v1 just about every time). I suppose if you just play it to keep the far node neuted, and contested at all times it can work, but it leaves very little margin for error at the mid node, and Thieves do the same job much better with better mobility to fall back to mid or close if necessary.
A few things:
YOu have 65% boon duration +40% might duration. This isn’t ideal. Try for 80% all boons and 20% more might or even 90% all boons.
I would think that chaos armor/PU would give enough regeneration that phantasm regen isn’t necessary. Leave your clones out rather than phantasms as you are speced more in conditions. Then maybe move 15 to dueling for bleeds/more clones?
I honestly think the scepter is now fine as a 2nd condition weapon. I also think it works as a secondary melee power weapon swap though.

All I can ever find for more boon duration is superior sigil of water. Sigil of the Monk, apparently doesn’t exist on my server. Not sure where else I’d find more boon duration. Although im probably just looking right past it. That’s the only reason I went with might duration.
I’ll try out swapping out my phantasm regen for clone production but having the regen there from phantasm is a requirement for Mesmer builds in my guild. Part of the group synergy.
If you can keep full regeneration on your team with the Signet + PU/Chaos Armor, there is no reason to bring phantasm regen. Again, I have not run this build so it might not be the case. It is worth a try. Sorry, but that seems like a really dumb requirement for a guild. Like I would of left that guild on day one with that amount of incompetence/restriction. It’s not even a strong heal with your build.
Rune of the Monk is from AC exp. 120 tokens per rune. All servers have access to the same trading post. You can also add 2 MAJOR runes of water/monk for another 10% boon duration for that 90%.
/face palm…. I forgot about the major rune….. Wow. Ty sir.
The phantasm regen is for the phantasm build the guild is currently using. I’m trying out this build to see if we want to run this instead of the current build. Having the phantasms with regen let’s me place them around the battle field keeping regen up longer over a larger area. Your right though this particular build only ticks for 175. It’s something I’m going to try and change out during our next build workshop.
I still can’t believe I brain farted the major rune. It’s been a long week with to little sleep.
Cheers man.
To the OP, a suggestion would be to try Apothecary gear (or a mix) to get some more healing power into the build, if good phantasmal regeneration is desired. The condition damage focus and toughness is still there, and precision is traded for healing power which in this build shouldn’t be a big deal (no dueling tree for sharper images or vigor proc off crit).

I tried this in some of the Apoth gear I have. Heals were good but the vigor was wanted more by almost everyone. Myself included. Just hard to give up that vigor, ya know?

Hm I don’t think you were following me there. I was saying that it doesn’t seem precision does you much good in this condition/support build because you don’t have any points in the dueling tree where you would get vigor from critical hits (5 pts) and sharper images (15 pts). This is why I suggested going with some apothecary gear mixed.
That aside, with the build you linked, there are currently no ways for you to proc vigor (except a low chance w/SoI). If you wanted to reliably proc vigor to share with your allies, the only easy way to do that would be to swap persisting images for vigorous revelation.

I did invest 5pts in the dueling tree for “Critical Infusion; Gain 5 seconds of vigor on delivering a critical hit. This effect can only trigger once every 5 seconds.”

Ah, sorry didn’t catch that 5 pts before. I think you could still strike a good balance of more healing while keeping enough precision to proc vigor every 5 seconds or so.
The build still could use some playing with. It’d be nice to raise the healing to be around 250 per tick. I’ll do some math later and figure out how much healing I need to get there, then try it out again.
Thanks for the ideas so far.

Actually I’ve done that math for the support build in my signature. You need 960 healing power to get 250 per tick. I settled for a little less than that, while maintaining decent damage output. I believe you could do the same, but with your condition damage focus. In your case, going from around 200 to 900 is quite a jump, but I’m sure you can find a good balance between precision and healing power.
