As most mesmers will know, our beloved focus was taken from us a few patches ago now i don’t mean to rage but it was possibly THE most stupid mesmer nerf going, let me explain myself. Well the only build to use the focus is shatter mesmer really, the temporial curtain could be used awesomely to link in shatters to enemies or just to pull an enemy team off point, now why the hell would a skill like this need to have a cd between the pull? i see no logic in this? was it an attempt to make it dodge-able? im pretty sure you could easily dodge it before with fast reactions… not like you can dodge fear? if anything focus needed a buff… shatter mesmer is a skillfull build and not everyone can play it well so why nerf an awesome shatter utility? IMO focus should be returned to how it was AND phantasmal warden cast time should be lowered why the cast time is so long as it is i do not know? gs phantasm 3/4, even pistol phantasm is quicker cast. Mesmers certainly aren’t op at the moment, and certainly shatter mesmers aren’t viable. The only OP mesmer builds out there as we speak is condi phantasm, which any low bob noob can run. So please anet, give the shatter community something back and give us our focuses!?

Viable!? so being able to get wiped by an s/p thief in seconds means shatter mesmer is viable? getting condi spammed by necros with our crappy amount of condi removal? no.. shatter mesmer needs some sort of buff, giving us back our focuses would make mesmers everywhere so happy

I very rarely hear people complaining about focus or shatter builds being underpowered.

If you get wiped by any class within a few seconds, giving a small buff to focus is not going to help much. Ill assume you’re over exaggerating.

Shatter is still very viable, and thieves still scream its OP.

If the devs listened to every post wanting a buff, we would all become unkillable gods that could one-shot any mob. (Only a slight exaggeration)

so in your opinion focus deserved to be nerfed when there’s builds like s/p thief, stun warrior and condimancer around…

The focus nerf had zero impact on shatter’s viability. This post is pointless.

Carry on running phantasm thinking you’re viable pal.

I change between phantasm/shatter/condi pretty much every week. But whatever makes you feel better.

My point is there were tons of these threads right after the nerf, the build is still perfectly viable. It was put in because of the PvP meta because it wasn’t dodgeable since there was no animation to tell it was coming.

Your kidding me right? Shatter not viable…… go tell Osicat that and see where that discussion leads lol. Shatter is not dead by any means and let alone because we cannot pull instantly with the focus.
