i’ve seen a lot of hate towards glamour build because they’re “too easy to use” or “too intuitive to create”

well let me tell you, it’s like any build, usually easy to learn, hard to master.

glamour builds aren’t just about tagging, they give the mesmer some much needed AOE damage, while allowing for survivability and single target damage.

with scepter/torch and staff, plus feedback and null field and mirror images, you can apply so many stack of confusion that will sicken a backstab thief, and catch those lightning surge eles off guard or prevent them from escaping, all the while providing ethereal fields for your teammates to apply confusion with projectiles, or mass chaos armor with blasts.

That’s just it. Being able to take on whole groups because of AoE abilities, at the same time as supporting your team, while also being powerful in 1v1.

It doesn’t require that much effort – not saying I “hate” it, that’s a pretty strong word. It was the first build I used in pvp back near launch because it is easy to pick up the basics and be effective.

Of course there is an added layer of complexity that takes it from good to god-like, when learning how to maximise the confusion stacks through shatters, field placement, and so on…
