Godmoney's Carrion, Retaliation, Soloroaming
I like the concept.
I enjoy roaming too, but I’m still struggling finding the build that I’m comfortable with. I always end up with the problem that I want near-perma swiftness. And for that there’s not many options/traits distrubution.
So, how do you manage in your build to be fast enough to roam?
At the risk of sounding like an incredible noob….
What is…roaming?
Roaming is basically running around on a wvw map, usually solo with no objectives in mind other than to fight other solo or small groups of enemies. Most roaming builds (for any profession) are more successful if they have some type of way to buff their out-of-combat speed to move around the map faster or to avoid enemies if needed.

Oh, lol.
I knew the actual meaning, I wasn’t sure if it was gamer slang for something else entirely.
That clears it up, thank you!

That is a weakness of this build, lacking speed buffs. It does have ton’s of stealth though which I find with good juking is sufficient to escape most groups or zergs. Also using your staff’s 2 in combination with blink and stealth and line of sight should let you have plenty of avoidance.
This build has about 23.5 k health and has near perma retaliation up.
Condi’s just fall off because of the passive -60% cond removal
This build also has around 1400 cond with 2000 power which makes both mind wrack and cry of frustration do good damage on top of teh confusion.
The problem I had when i was min maxing cond damage is that skillful players are smart and they just don’t spam attacks like new players do. This build gives you solid pressure damage with still a ton of confusion to back it up.
Your retaliation will hit for about 367 with this exact build, coupled with 23.5 k health is a nasty combo.
Anyway’s, thanks for checking it out whether you try it or not. I know not many mesmer own Carrion gear but if you do you should try it.
The only thing I would ask about, is why Superior Hoelbrak and not Melandru? I mean, sure Hoelbrak grants a nice chunk of Power, but Melandru’d grant a bit more -cond and some Toughness, which Carrion EQ lacks. Also, IMO, I just can’t get behind those 5% chance of Effect “X” on hit Runes. That percentage’s just abysmally low. Otherwise, I can definately see how this build’d be fun to use.

Well it is for the power. Also I feel that the -stun duration is kinda wasted since we have every stun break under the sun.
Meh, I think if you want something more defensive then go for the Melandru. You are going to lose some retaliation scaling though and some BANG on your shatters.
Experimentation is the fun part.

I do micromanage focus. Minimize back pack and throw it in the top corner with your focus in a consistent spot. It’s annoying but it works for long distances.
