I was using full rune of centaur and mantra mastery to get perma-swiftness when I was wvw zerging but I recently switched to a gs/s build for zerg and trying to learn a shatter build for roaming/group.

Since I lost the centaur runes I’m finding that I can’t keep up with groups. I’m usually one of the last to show up to a fight and sometimes miss out on caps. In zergs at least I can still rely on other peoples swiftness.

Is there something I can do to speed up a bit without losing to much of the build’s stats? Or should I just go back to centaur runes?

What is the most efficient way to gain some speed without losing out on stats too much?

1. use phase retreat
2. swap to focus while running
3. traveller runes
4. bring a friend
5. pack runes?

why do you need your stats anyway. Mesmer is terrible at large scale fight. Just make sure you use gs#1 to “touch” the opponents who are going to die.

Either slap it on your GS, or tag with your GS (when your zerg rolls into a camp/gate guards) then swap to your sword/OH weapons with the sigil on and watch the swiftness stack.

Pack runes are great with a focus. I’ve been running 6, 4, 0, 4, 0 with GS sword/focus, running glamor mastery with feedback and traited focus for more reflects (lots of glassy range in the meta atm). So self swiftness isnt a problem in that build. Might not be your thing though.

I run 46040 with mantra heal and reflect JUST to annoy rangers, so much fun, that works nice with the heal/swift rune that I just forgot the name of.

For roaming: pack runes if you use focus (they are also among the best power runes right now, even for builds that have no use for the swiftness buff). Traveler runes are still a must if you don’t have a focus. You will need this mobility.

OP, running a power CI build with pack runes and focus or a Condi CI build with traited focus will give you slightly more speed than Travelers.

OP, this is one of the builds I use for good mobility. It’s effective against most of what you’ll see out there roaming (great for flipping camps, too): Chaotic Perdition

Pretty much what Sorel said already.

Run sword/focus with pack runes
OR
Run staff with traveler runes
*Bind your about face key to something convenient and learn to phase retreat forward for more mobility.

Far Reaching Manipulations is also a great trait for blink.
