Loving my Asuran Mesmer, but when I first realized that Human, Slyvari and Char Mesmers have a completely different animation than Asura by levitating and rotating the greatsword with their hands instead of holding it and pointing with it I became so envious and dissapointed that I almost deleted my level 80 Asura.
Please update this skill so Asura could have this unique animation too!

In my opinion the asura animations are superior. They don’t hold and point it – they THRUST it at their foes with the force of a thousand charging dolyaks!
All asura greatsword animations on mesmer (and every other weapon/skill/class) are superior – one handed mirror blade throw, awesome mind stab action, BY THE POWER OF GREYSKULL one handed iZerker summon and an iWave animation that looks like it has some proper momentum behind it.
How are they superior when Human Mesmers literally spin them in place? I want to do that with my legendaries!
And I’ve also noticed something else. When any other race uses their GS 1 they make a grimace on their face, like channeling a large and unstable pink laser beam is difficult to do. Asura have no grimace whatsoever on their face, silent and calm like they just woke up from a nap.
This is just straight up lazy.

That just proves how superior Asura truly are
Their mastership of physics is such that don’t need silly things like magic when they know how to grip big kitten swords properly
Yeah but asura ears extend/quiver while doing the gs1 animation, as well as them leaning back while thrusting like they mean to impale their foe.
I don’t like human/sylvari/norn animations – they are all too “floaty” and weird looking.
Meanwhile, Charr just waves it with one hand

Well most greatswords are bigger than any asura that wields them, even with scaling.
I’m conflicted.
On the one hand, saying you can work magic with your sword shouldnt be ignored.
But at the same time, if it requires two hands to lift you’ve got nothing to be ashamed of.
The thrust of this dilemma is powerful indeed

Personally I’m not conflicted at all – I love the extra physicality of asura animations.
I love the way an Asura runs and holds their GS…like it’s no big deal. Try running around with a human female, she looks so weak…as if she can barely lift the thing, much less actually use it. The spinning animation looks silly when it comes from that low holding point. It’s like ‘Oh, this sword’s so heavy’ then when they go to use it suddenly it becomes weightless and they can easily just spin it place. At least the Asura ones makes sense! I love the physics behind the Asura movements.
That human can’t even hold the sword when it’s got that much magic power in it, she has to levitate it just to get it to work. My Asura, on the other hand, can easily wield a sword bigger than them and throw a purple lazer beam up to 1200 feet away with it.

Perhaps my meaning was not rigid enough. The vein of what I was saying might not have been noticed. Next time I’ll try to erect a stronger post.

Hehe, yes I see it now too. xD

Me too, though I do mind how oddly the upper hand’s wrist angles. That specific element should be reworked slightly.

That’s a good point, it is a very extreme angle.
How did this turn into the sex joke thread?

I have no idea what you’re talking about, and frankly I’m disgusted by the suggestion! For shame.
My Asura Mesmers aren’t allowed to use GS because of how much I dislike that animation.
