The reason this is in the mesmer thread is so this can get adressed more quickly.
When a guardian throws up a wall of reflection, and a mesmer is using the auto attack feature with the scepter. The guardian can create clones of himself that he cannot either control or shatter. The mesmser doesnt even control these clones. This needs to be adressed/fixed.
It is the same thing with the engineer, except the engineers clone uses the 1 pistol slot, and it does 0 damage, but still causes the target to bleed for damage if it hits. It is completely situational, but I think that this needs to be fixed and adressed shortly, I’ve added it to the bugs, but maybe if I mention it to the community the solution will be expodited. I’m creating a secondary post in the guardian thread very similar to this one.
Well… you reflect a projectile that creates a clone. In some ways, I would actually expect the reflected projectile to create a clone.
I think it’s working as intended. The reflection walls should reflect the full effect of the ability. So if the attack generates a clone, then create a clone for them. Same concept applies to conditions. I think it adds a dynamic level of play and forces you to react differently when you see those reflection bubbles and abilities pop up.
On a side note, I wonder if they are still limited to 3 illusions? Cause they don’t have the container icons that show how many illusions they can have. Would be interesting to see.
The engineer clones just stand there. I forgot to mention. They do not attack. They just stand there and do nothing.
apparently the engineers cones both use their pistol 1, causing bleed, and stand there and do nothing.

I was thinking the same. Though I’ve never tested it, reading the Scepter tooltip I expected this behaviour.
Ofc, this only makes the already meh Scepter more meh.
But it’s problem is not whether you can reflect a clone or not, really. It’s problem is that the #1 chain doesn’t advance until impact, that it offers no actual benefit (due to how slow the scepter attacks, it’s clone-generation isn’t strong enough), my char yells every time the third hit of the #1 chain goes off, #3 is prone to failing due to how the animation works, and the thing just lacks a proper identity.
