Guess What?
the problem is that during this you’re probably not ever capping a point, ie why you only have 50% wins because you’re wasting your time in stealth literally waiting for an enemy to die, or you’re just merely surviving a thief, that is, if smart, will just shadowstep away because it’s a waste of his/her time trying to down a pu mes that isn’t contributing cap points.
Your build could use some serious optimization but i wont spoil the fun for you. As on the point of capping points, empty point caps just fine and mesmers always were more of a +1.
I changed it slightly, adding agony sigil to the pistol. I’m consistently outscoring the chronos I play with. That’s both in personal score and damage output. It’s pretty rough when a build from a year ago is consistently beating out the brand new HoT elite.
PU was never my thing, so I am not playing it optimally for sure. I did get flamed for playing PU though :P It’s hard for me to hide and let damage tick.
The big weakness is that I’m counting on avoiding big condi hits for the most part. The generosity sigils, invis, and evasive mirror are also some defense.
See I would feel way to susceptible to a counter condi bomb (particularly necros) if not currently running Inspiration.
Duelling/Chaos /Illusions is the most offensive for condi (especially if you slot mantra of distraction and run with Mistrust), but I don’t like how incredibly weak it is at dealing with incoming conditions.
15k HP pool.
Playing Berserker I’d attack your clones/phants while you were in stealth, and gunflame you when you were out. On berserker I have 28k HP, so getting through that would take a while for you, especially considering I run two sources of resistance (healing sig on 16s cd, zerker stance on 60). For the most part, I could just ignore you.
On Daredevil I run p/p venomshare. I’d out stealth and out evade you (3 dodges with energy replenshing heal, and cleanse on dodge) and just counter condi you. I’d be looking to +1 on you anyway (superior mobility) so looking at it from a purely 1v1 isnt necessary.
On Mesmer. Since we’re both low on cleanse it’d be the most dangerous of the three matchups. But pretty much since we’re running the same number of stealths, it’d be careful to kite out your stealth and summons (even using my phants to counter your phants), bide my time, and stunlock burst you. The rabid armor/HP shouldn’t make a difference.
What is the role of this build anyway? Roaming DPS +1? Obviously not a point holder XD
What happened to your leaving? I thought you wanted your money back.
Hoping to be rid of me, dear? I’m leveling a Blade Dancer in another world.
Actually I’m playing a troll – ish build because chrono ( for which I bought HoT ) was nerfed to below core status. So, I picked up an old idea that looks like it will work ( and does, in the current offense-centric scene ) and one that kittens off the same players who qq about Chrono.
Your theory crafting sounds good on paper. In actual play, I’m wrecking folks. Give it a try.
After you spiked your condis, the opponent will just:
a) tank it e.g. with resistance
b) cleans it
c) transfer it back to you and instant kill you

Someone pointed this thread out to me… As an aficionado of the condition play style, I’ve personally concluded that Rabid isn’t the best amulet to run. You either go big with Vipers/Sinister or go the safer route with Mercenary.
The fact is that unless you’re going down the former route, it will be hard to make a difference in team fights unless they are longer battles. If you aren’t good in team fights then you should at least be able to defend home point. However, that’s an issue with constant stealthing…
This build is better suited for a far point assaulter. And to reiterate, an amulet change would help in that regard. Hmmm.
“The jealous are troublesome to others, but certainly a torment to themselves.”
By the way, chrono is still better than mesmer. Just so you know.
^ Usually only characer that i play on

I share all of mails thoughts.
Different ammy (more offensive)
Looses value in team fights
PU for far point assaulter (Mes will be best for home point defender in coming meta, if anything at all)
Is there a reason why I would ever play this verses a 2 button 20 poison stack necro?

Necros get focused
Mesmers drop focus?

You’re going to focus 3 necros at the same time?

No, but you only need to drop one and stomp to turn the fight in your favor. For as strong as necros are, you do have to pay attention as they have always been high priority targets and will continue to be such for a long time coming.

I run a shatter build and doing well. But in unranked I’m facing very poor players , not really a true test of the build. I haven’t lost to a thief yet 1 v 1 but I know they are not really good thieves. In general I chain daze and them then burst them down, works great. But from ranked played even before thief buff the good thieves would not get caught by chain daze like the ones I face now days.
Playing Berserker […] For the most part, I could just ignore you.
Aside from the 2-3 months we got between HoT release and ArenaNet’s decapitation of chrono, this has pretty much been the attitude toward mesmers in competitive play for about 2 years—particularly toward PU.

Rofl, so true.
Nevertheless, PU is working. I’m running into a lot of people not running good cleanse. Granted, this is unranked. The mercenary amulet change worked. As an aside, I’m running into very few chronos.
PU condi has always had crazy good fight potential. There’s a reason it’s still a really popular WvW roaming build, and why for a while it absolutely dominated the WvW scene. The stealth dependency just makes it not very useful in conquest.
