I agree… Please sticky this
Very helpful and easy to understand.
Thanks for great guide! Hope you will share more and more of your knowledge
I even use your shatter build, which you have on your channel and i am quite enjoing it.
I am still wondering, why this isn´t stickied …
This guide proved a starting inspiration for me. Helped a bunch to understand and lvl my mesmer when i had no clue. This really should be stickied
Bump for sticky
Awesome guide, sticky!
+1 for sticky!
Started playing the game a few weeks ago and out of a gut feeling picked the mesmer as my main. This guide made me love the class!
Was curious about you opinion on the dodge clone trait, also thinking of picking it up Signet of illusion instead of blink my thinking even one or two more shots could be good for stacking condition damage. I’m using your leveling build as a basis for heavy condition with staff and keeping sword/focus as back up.

Great guide using your build as a base made a few trait changes, mainly dropping the mind rack traits in favor of increasing their damage and giving me 3% more damage per illusion. My reason for that is honestly I don’t shatter often instead I use my clones to build conditions then use my iwarlock for extra damage.
Great Video. So far I have only viewed the first one and I am thrilled to see that even though i am still new to the game, I seem to have chosen my weapons as you have rated them.
I am solo leveling with a Staff, Sword/Pistol combo.
I’m sure you will cover this in one or more of the next vids I will be viewing but I just have to say one of my favorite routines to use against multiple mobs is:
Getting some Winds of Chaos hits in, Phase retreat and get my iLock up, Drop Chaos Storm in the middle of them if they are still ranged or maybe just ahead of them if they are on the move towards me, pop chaos armor, swap to S/P combo, iLeap/Swap into the mass (also within the storm that is still active) go into blurred Frenzy (or a round of Mind Slash if I was quick enough to still have the storm up then Blurred Frenzy) If for some reason there are still mobs up I can evade back until I am ready to swap back to Staff and hit a phase retreat again.
Your video has given me more insight on some other skills I can add into that. I can’t wait to watch the rest of them.
Great Job and thanks for your work.
This should be stickied
To the top with you!
This seriously needs to be sticky’d. Superb guide for mesmers of all experience levels,
In your comprehensive video when you got to Illusions of Life, you said that revived allies die if they don’t kill a target before IoL runs out. They don’t die, they get incapped again (I don’t know but I imagine this adds to their number of “downs” they’re allowed, so if they’re on their final down (red), they WILL die).
I used this in big battles early on in WvW. The trouble with it was that people don’t know they’re on a timer, so instead of falling back to safety (assuming they can’t/don’t incap), they go down again near the front lines and get taken out.
Don’t think the OP is around anymore. Is the leveling build/guide still legit?
I am actually still around

Yay! Welcome back then. Can’t wait to see what you have in store.
I started playing about 2 weeks ago and your guide helped tremendously.

Would it include an update to your excellent mesmer guide?
Thank you for making it!
