Well, I started playing GW like 2 days ago, first toon was a Thief, which already wasted the Legacy Set on him because I didnt know how it work… anyway, I moved on and made a Guardian and I gotta tell you… seriously, I find the game play kinda annoying… now I’m starting a Mesmer but most Mesmer that I saw was wearing a Great Sword :[ I mean, is it the best weap to wear as a Mesmer?

Another thing, what would be the best build to go for leveling?

You’re going to notice your character change a lot as you level; we’re a bit trait dependent, so your first forty levels are far different than your last forty levels. Mesmers delight in having more viable builds than other classes, though. So, greatsword is only one option. It is a common option, but you’re by no means limited to it.

So far as leveling goes, check out Lazy Kai’s guide. It’s the go-to how-to for budding Mesmers.

The greatsword is one of the weaker weapons of the mesmer, however it’s pretty ok for trashmobs (regular easy mobs) and it’s a good beginner weapon since it’s easy to handle.

For a beginner you should get a Sword + Focus and a Greatsword. Sword + Pistol works fine too and is better for stronger enemies like Veterans. Just test all the weapons and their skills. Don’t forget that you can activate some skills multiple times like the Sword 3 or Focus 4.

Do you play on EU or NA? And what’s your main language if I may ask? ^^
