Help me with Sword / Sword?
How do I trait? I’m going ATM 10/25/30/0/5.
I have around 1.5k toughness and 1.1k vitality, but I know I can’t rely on that to really survive.
sword/sword are usually power builds
20/20/0/0/30 should be your trait set up
Important traits: that you have
mental torment, blade training, deceptive evasion, illusionary persona.
You armour should have around 1.4k -1.5 tough with the rest of the stats going to power and crit.
i see sword/sword as more of a tank set up or off tank at the very least. its skill set is focused on shrugging/evading damage while setting up to shatter. i would suggest getting illusion regen so that you can stay on your toes, pDefender so half your damage, and time warp as an elite for the quickness, along with Signet of Inspiration, and a free slot for whatever tickles your fancy. but that’s just general, if you still want to dps you can always build for it instead but for the type of skills they provide outlasting your opponent seems more preferable to dropping him quickly with this set up
I recommend taking advantage of your melee range and going 30 into illusions for illusionary persona and a shatter build. Go 20 into dueling for the clones on dodge for shatter fodder, the vigor on crit passive and the 20% sword CDR. You don’t need to gear tanky with swords as well timed blurred frenzy, blocks, and dodges should be enough to keep you alive.

sword is not really a tanky spec. Sword off hand have slightly better dps than pistol
Swords are more direct damage, yeah, but honestly how you trait yourself is less dependent on your weapons and more dependent on which mechanic you’re going to make the most use of: shatters, phantasms, mantras, boons, etc… So it’s hard to recommend something beyond personal preference or looking at builds (there’s a link in the sticky section of the forum) that use sword/sword (or what you can tweak to use sword/sword) and see what suits your fancy.
