Guild Wars 2

You can ignore the utility skills/traits, planning to use the Inspiration/Domination build in qT. Also note that I’m trying to avoid using 10% utilities with these builds so they aren’t exactly min-max meta. So with all that in mind I’ve come up with these two builds:

I’m sort of leaning towards the 2nd build because I feel like it would be a lot more lenient on the timing of boon sharing since I won’t have spam upon weapon swap with how it’s already at 100% boon duration. I’ve also been hearing a lot of people saying that Mesmer damage is pretty bad, but also been hearing that every little counts so I’m really not sure about which path to take. I already have a full comm armor set and have 6x leaderships ready to slot. As usual, thanks for the advice in advance!

Edit: Forgot to mention, but I believe I’ll be doing most of the tanking for the group.

I understand you want to avoid the expensive food, but try to avoid too much commander gear since it’s gonna make you weak fast. For minmaxing go with this:

Build A

Regardless of if you tank or not, I reaaaaaallly suggest you use that Concentration Sigil. 33% boon duration translates to 495 concentration stats! That’s like two permanently fully stacked stacking sigils! :o

If you are insecure about your weapon swap skills while tanking, that’s ok: For beginners, just equip Sword/Nothing + Nothing/Shield instead, until you got the feeling for it.

It’s more important to keep up the Quickness than having one damage phantasm out. Most of the time, it’s an iWarden anyway, where the difference to an iAvenger isn’t big. So you can go with this:

Build B

Since you now will have 3 iAvengers up all the time, you can run Well of Calamity instead of Recall for identical damage as if you would use Recall with 2 iAvengers and 1 iDMG.

Ah, thought I responded to this, but looking at the build you provided, it doesn’t look like you’d be getting 100% boon duration. 62% (gear and food) + 33% (Sig of Concentration) adds up to only 95%, am I not supposed to aim for 100%?

You can swap the superior sharpening stone for a bountiful sharpening stone to get 72% before the sigil boost.

As stated in the first post, I’m trying to avoid 10% boon utilities which is why I’m not following the meta builds and asking advice on the 2 builds proposed.

I assumed when he said “I understand you want to avoid the expensive food” he meant utilities since boon food isn’t exactly expensive; which in turn confuses me about the builds he posted since they don’t hit the 100% boon mark.

If u want to avoid the 10% boon utilities u can either:
1) Put more exotic trinkets with platinum dabloons.
2) Put more commanders gear until u achieve the desired boon duration.(It should give you about 1300 toughness to achieve 10%)

In any case u lose some of that AMAZiNG mesmer dps.
