Guild Wars 2

Okay so im new to playing a Mesmer, and i’ve been playing an awful long time with this toon and it is only lvl 16, I die so easy or deal no dmg! Do these toons only rely on illusions? What would be the best build for them going into dungeon, fractals, wvw etc?

Hybrid or Glass Cannon?

Rule 1 for leveling a mesmer. Get a staff.

Rule 2 Be prepared for things to kinda suck till you hit level 60 and unlock traits that make the class useable and much more powerful/playable.

As for builds.. look around the forums after you figure out how you’ll be playing your mesmer.

SeOne, while leveling get a Greatsword + Sword/Focus and dump your trait points into Dueling to go after Deceptive Evasion. Also put points in Domination and Chaos and use Decoy to drop aggro.

Once you hit 80 your concerns will be different.

Get a Staff + Sword/Focus, go for an illusion build till lvl 40 [something generally like this http://gw2skills.net/editor/?fgAQNAW8Nlwzip3QDtWkgUBVXqAvB-e]

Mesmer is a pain in the kitten Till 40, but Deceptive Evasion is a life changer imo … :3
