Hey guys, I’m looking to get into level 40+ fractals, basically I’m a berserker shatter built mesmer, focusing on GS/Staff usage, but all weapons are viable with this. I’m curious of what you guys think about a build I’ve come up with and what you think should be tweaked. The main weak points of this build are the close and personal encounters with mobs, for example the giant fractals at the chest seal. Would mean alot to me if you could help me out and give me your opinions on this.

The Illusion master trait can be switched up for some other traits, such as phantasm cdr, or 9% damage for illusions depending on the situation, but this is the basis.

Just out of curiosity, what Fractal level are you/how many fractals have you done? The up close encounters you can learn how to deal with by using melee weaponsets. It teaches you how to mitigate damage instead of just playing safe.

I’ve done up to 38, I usually play safe, however in some close up encounters I do use the sword for distorsion/shatter, decoy, etc. It works up until then, but 40+ is a whole different story.

I’m lvl 56 done 500+ fractals and I’ve done higher lvls aready (few 65s and 75s). I preffer use zerker builds, since damage is most usefull in higher levels.Investing much in toughness is pointless since up there, everything preety much downs you in first hit no matter what, i just put in 10 to get my trait. Lately i’ve been running 20 20 10 20 0, so i increase my blink range and decrease it’s down time, since i believe mobility is key and the trait to reduce feedback downtime (got to love that feedback <3) .

You guys are nuts. I’ve done Fractal’s maybe 50-60 times, but 500.. wow.

I haven’t played my Mesmer in FOTM because of the character bound rewards (dumb), but I would think getting Shattered Concentration (boon removal on shatters) would be very important in Fractal’s because of the mobs/bosses that run around with perma-protection.

Smilko – what runes/sigils do you use? Could you link your build?

Got berserker armor and trinkets upgraded with ruby orbs. For greatsword, I cant really decide what sigil to put on, but on sword I have sigil of force and supperior agony on focus.

I actually had a very similar build idea for my mesmer originally, however my team has 2 guardians, and with the 2 walls of reflection, I don’t really need the focus reflection, hence why I went staff for the fields, extra chaos armor there. It seems like a really nice build, although I’ve found that stacking too much reflection can be a waste if you have 1 or 2 guardians. Thanks for the input, I will defintely try it out.

I have that because we usually run in a group that has no guardians. I do swap for pistol from time to time and change the inspiration trait VIII for IX.

I’m full zerker 20/20/0/0/30 build with base 916 vit anf toughness. Doing lvl 50s. Never really down at all. If party wipes… I’m last to die. It’s all about mobility.
