That doesn’t tell him anything since very few people actually bother to quantify their damage output, and most don’t even know what DPS means.

The build titled “DPS variant” here is the highest possible DPS you will be able to scrape out on mesmer, at least in theory. In practice due to reflects and AOEs and whatnot, the other variants may end up dealing more.
The DPS/Reflect variant is the best one for Arah where reflects are so important.

It depends on what you want to do.
For dungeobs, go 10/30/0/30/0.
For wvw 10/30/0/0/30 to down people in about 0.7 seconds :P

Before anyone can give adequate advice, you really need to specify your question. Highest damage output where vs what?
If you simply want to have the highest damage output without taking anything against specific situations (reflection, boonshare etc):
30/30/0/0/10. Go for full Mantra damage and as much phantasm damage as you can. Just started testing it and the damage is ridiculous (for a mesmer). It’s completly new to me to crit for 3.5k with sword 1 final hit.

That is the absolute theoretical minmax on an Sw/Sw build but your practical DPS drops because it means that:
1) You don’t have Celerity.
2) Swordsman becomes your only viable DPS phantasm.
3) Combining the two above, it takes 35+ seconds, including cast times, to get three phantasms out, assuming none of them die.
Compare that to something like 10/30/0/0/30 which has slightly lower theoretical DPS but:
1) You have Celerity.
2) Phantasmal Haste means Duelist is also viable.
3) Combining the two above, you can get two phantasms out immediately, and top it off at three after 15 seconds
