Dungeons ? Fractals ? Silverwastes ? SPVP ? WVW roaming ? WVW group play ?

what is your poison ? Also name if any 2 or 3 of these, as there may be a build to encompass your requirements with just slight alterations from place to place such as switching utility skills or a weapon.

What have you tried so far? I hope you’ve put in SOME effort at the very least.

For PvP. So far it works, the surprise damage of the swordsman or mage hitting people for 5-6k sticks along with 2-3k per wrack along with 1-1.5k per cry (I just dump everything, went well on chronomancer. not so well on mesmer). I just want to have some of the muscle memory (or all) down before next bwe. That and know what I should trait to do damage with and without the line.

But yea- trying to make super high burst build without chronomancer (for now, that will be something I try out when it becomes available). I’ve seen other Mesmers instagib people with Greatsword shatter combo, for some reason I couldn’t so I swapped to staff for more surprise damage.

Edit: More than willing to play Greatsword (I enjoy the playstyle) if someone can explain to me how in the kitten people were pumping 15-18k damage in a single super awesome looking combo.

I’m more of a WvW player than sPvP, but from my experience the highest burst from OOC is probably GS4 —> GS2 —> MoD —> DE —> F1 —> GS3 shatter combo with Mental Anguish GM trait. Staff and sword/sword are interesting dueling weapons, but the ramp up time on the cast skills is going to limit your burst.

My suggestion for a build that does great dmg but can survive with twitchy fingers. Easy 20 vulns plus blinds and condies. Also some minimal condie clear for burns. That’s the glassiest mesmer i would play

Easiest combo that does decent damage in less than 2s would be, stand point blank to the enemy, mirror blade and let it bounce back to you and onto the enemy again, then mind wrack followed by a GS3.

Should do at least 8k damage easily. Can instant gib a thief if you managed to stun him, or he’s too unaware to dodge.

The best? Not sure.

Mental Anguish with impact sigil (and force but meh). MoD for stun. MoD stun, point blank GS 2, dodge clone, Mind Wrack, GS 3, <- All of this should hit under the stun, – > ; summon zerker for bonus damage.

Can also use iDuelist, pistol stun, imob etc (see example at end of vid)

You can also do a lockdown/phant into shatter burst, but its more easily escaped.
