How are Mesmers at 80?
In pve instances totaly ok and good for the team.
In farm events in a zerg we not to good but tbh why would anyone want to do that.
In tpvp we are a fantastic.
In wvwvw …. well as roamers in smal teams or solo we GOD,S, as support to larger group we GOD,S. For sieges we better as support.
For wvwvw trolling big groups we kinda the class invented to do this.
Want to see some movies from smal and big scale wvwvw froma mesmer have alook at the vids in my guide. staff – sword/pistol film at 7:20 give a clue why we are so important for teams in wvwvw

Osicat has covered it mostly. We excel in many areas and we can even solo mobs other classes can’t. It takes a while to get used to playing the class though. Biggest drawback is event/orr farming, but rest of the game we’re very fun to play.
Mesmers are amazing at 80. PVE and in PVP, they bring many useful tools to the table.
i had been running very very similar to osicat for some time and switched for a few weeks to GS/scepter/focus and then a confusion build and it makes me realize how much better i like the playstyle of the shatter build. i switched to get some perspective on the class and learn more about it. there are other viable builds, you just have to try as many out as possible and find one that makes sense to you. if it doesn’t, you will not enjoy it or be a great player.
on a side note, im glad osicat posted his shatter build because it is nice to know that other people were playing the build i started with and being very successful with it. he is quite a bit better at it than me though and its nice to see some great pointers on the videos he took the time to make
