Guild Wars 2

I am somewhat new to guild wars, but I watched my brother play guild wars 1 a lot and he had a sweet Mesmer and it was pretty cool. When I made a Mesmer in guild wars 2 I wanted to make a kind of trickster kind of guy. But when I stared playing him he started shooting pink bolts from his scepter and I didn’t really think that he could be cool while he shot pink at his enemies so just got rid of him. I notice now that there are really tough mesmers out there and mesmers have really cool skills and I want to get back into them. Is it just the scepter or do all weapons do that? Can I make a cool Mesmer?

Depends on your definition of cool.

Sceptre auto attack – yeah it doesn’t do it for me either; just not visually satisfying to use.

Go Sw/P + GS maybe (or staff).

I find pink, purple, fuchsia and butterflies cool!

You could always change the hue on your monitor to make the pink look blue I guess

Just make a mean looking huge Charr male Mesmer.

Then dress him in pink.

sword is the only way to avoid “the pink”….well most of it anyways.

Seeing the pink (well, that, and the choose profession screens at character creation) made me make my mesmer female. XD Of course, I was going to since it was going to be a re-creation of my illusionist from City of Heroes, but if they chose a more neutral colour for the power auras, maybe it might have been better for people to choose the gender of their mesmers, haha..

Also stop using Sceptre, and then think of it as purple not pink, then look at the butterflies as part of the butterfly effect via chaos theory.

Mesmer’s are people who control other’s minds by tricking them into change of environment and clones. Purple and pink are colors of mind and psychology, butterflies are chaos. Meanwhile i look at them like they are the phantoms of the theater, noble actors and illusionist. If you dress Human mesmer in Masquerade clothes and put on Embroidered mask they actually look like guys from the theater.

Crafted level 80 exotic light armor… in other words, Exalted. Dye it Abyss and it becomes the only bad kitten looking light armor for human male characters in the game. I used to seriously consider blowing a bunch of gems on a Total Makeover Kit and Name Change Contract until I stumbled upon this combination.

Try tier 2 Human dyed black or Arah set. Easier, give him facial hair and dye his armor black.

You didn’t check black dyes. I won’t trust you on this one. Looks like you just don’t want to search for something that suits you. Use dyes maybe? Everything will be kitten if tainted in brown.

So the goal is minimal pink effects? Maybe Sword / pistol and Greatsword? You’re going to have to be ok with butterflies. Alternatively, you can run an all signet build, and not use your weapons at all.

Take things personal much? Also, something that suits me? Did you not see me post a pic of my character earlier? I think I’m doing just fine, and I can’t help but think you’re confusing me with the TC somehow seeing as the question in my initial reply to this topic was altogether rhetorical.

That said, I don’t see why I need your trust at all in the first place on anything for that matter. I’m not here recommending jack kitten to you in the first place. Your aggressive and defensive quips are rather backwards given where you’re coming from in this conversation, Guy.

As for that last bit, I’m pretty sure my headgear suits my entire look perfectly fine.

Definitely in that lighting. Forgive my skepticism, though, but I’m curious about how your armor looks in a much brighter setting.

That’s the heritage armor, which is styled after GW1 mesmers. You certainly can’t go wrong with it.

heres how my mesmer look, you can only get that shirt as a asura racial jacket tho.

Hehe I embrace the pink and flashy stuff of the Mesmer. I even have Nightmare Armor dyed various hues of purple and I get a lot of comments on it for my Mesmer looking flamboyant and even a little feminine (he’s male by the way). I think it suits the Mesmer. Save the toughguy stuff for Warriors or perhaps thieves.

Mesmers are noblemen and women – we’re posh, not brutish. We’re the upper crust. We chill with Queens and flay people with their minds. Embrace your noble side!

Just make a green Sylvari, Pink goes well with green.
