It’s true.
Although I was kind of forced into this class by my friends (lest we all be playing warriors/theifs) it has grown on me. It has had its ups and downs since the begining but as I slowly reach level 80 (73 now) I am more and more coming into my own with it.

Due to this reason I can not believe the amount of complaints on this forum? Ha!
Without doubt this is one of the strongest classes currently in the game in the right hands.
Yes I am mainly talking PVP here but in PVE I have had little to no problems either.
It’s not an easy class, sure. I meet many a mesmer in PVP and they are well, pathetic most of the time. I do love meeting good ones however, the epic fights to be had then is amazing.
Most people at the moment don’t call out target, confusing them with clones practicaly means you can not lose 1v1 against them regardless of gear.

The portal is one of the most overpowered things in the game currently.
In wvw I can transport entire raids to safety or into flanking positions, I have saved my team-mates who get caught by the zerg by runing to them in invisibility and portaling them out of harms way. I can solo Zraiths Beacon then portal anyone from my server to the last part of it, saving them lots of time or brining them to the final fight.
No other class in the game can do this.

Yes I do enjoy playing support now and then and the Mesmer has great tools for the job.
Specificly I am a Mantra Warrior. I don’t see many around as most people here think Mantras suck.
I see most people using staffs and I laugh at them. I use sw/sw(or focus) and GS, It can switch from ranged kiting to melee burst with ease.
Berzerker is one of the most OP wvw Phantasams due to the fact you can use it through walls. It spawns directly on top of any player within 1200 range regardless of walls of obstacles.

Into the Void- the Focus’s pull is the best in the game, I have pulled 5 people down to their deaths many times.
Time Warp- Is the best Aoe group DPS buff.
Mass Invisibility- Is the best group stealth by having the largest range.
MoA is the best CC spell in the game.
Null Field- makes any group focusing on conditions, useless.
Feedback bubble is simply amazing.
I could go on but I will leave others to.

TLDR; Don’t let the negativity on this forum get you down, Mesmer is amazing.

As with any class there are downs to it as well

Grats dude. Man we got an amazing class, even on the downs you still end up loving it.

Thank you arena net very much for this class… Now excuse me while with the recent GS update I’m going to leo strut with it over my shoulders around my lowbie friends who keep rerolling trying to find their inherently adept class~

Refreshing as my Mesmer would say.

Just two little remarks.

Why would you laugh at Mesmers using a staff?
Especially as you’re telling us you’re enjoying the support role of your Mesmer and the staff is one of our stronger support weapons.

I’m not convinced popping your phantasm through a wall in W vs W is working as intended and it could be seen as an exploit if it’s actually a bug. Be carefull with it bro.
