Guild Wars 2

I’ve purely leveled my Asuran mesmer from level 19 to 67 purely from WvW, and nothing else. I have 80 hours on my mesmer. But yet I still don’t think I have much of an organized view of what I am truly doing.

I am currently level 67 running full zerker gear, 40% crit, pure precision and power, you won’t find a hint of toughness or vit in my armors. My main intention for my mesmer is to be a WvW DPS phantasm glass cannon machine. I have yet to ever “shatter” my phantasms, because I am trying to lay down the pain as much as possible while confusing the hell out of my enemies. The more phantasms and clones I have, the happier I am.

I run around WvW with Sword, Pistol, GS.

Usually I have GS equiped and start spamming #1, and #4, then switch to sword, and based on the situation either go for #5 pistol stun, and then #3, and #4 skills.

All the other skills are used based on when I think I need them. My problem is I don’t think I am very effective. I don’t die very much, and I do bring a good amount of damage, and I can get out of a sticky situation somewhat effectively, but I feel I can get OUT of a situation more effectively than I can put myself INTO a situation, I don’t feel like I am playing my mesmer SMARTLY..

I have NO understanding of confusion, reflection, or any of the other terminology of mesmers.

I basically run around WvW spamming skills I don’t even pay attention to the conditions I have on me.

Lol, this was more of a rant than anything else.

I still love mesmer, I ditched my Gaurdian for it. Once I hit 80 and get geared, I’m sure I’ll HAVE to learn my mesmer.

From what you just posted it sounds like you already know enough about the Mesmer to be effective. If you keep playing and refine your skills then you will soon be playing the best class in the game hands down!!!!! Mesmer for life!!!!!!

I think you’re right. I need to refine how I execute my skills to be more effectice.

Nice, and don’t worry about ragging on yourself. In fact, it is way more uncommon to hear some humility than it is to hear gloating. Just by recognizing that you have weaknesses will help your game alot. Mesmer for life!!!!!!

You wanna be better with your mesmer? Than do some sPvP it will help out alot.

most of the things normal mesmers talk about you dont need to worry about.

you can shatter if you want but your phantasms are stronger. shatter is more for shattercat type specs. you are most likely missing 20 percent mindwrack for 15 percent phantasm damage.

reflect is if you spec into phantasm with focus offhand. which is a good phantasm spec but not what you are into atm.

you should shatter your phantams for distortion imo when needed. even in a phant spec.

ya. what samstar said also… spvp is better practice then wvw.

you may not feel that effecive because mesmers only really shine right at lvl 80

Read up on combo fielding and the weapons to use. For example, stand on a temporal curtain, pop illusionary leap through it and you got retaliation.

But you should really aim for 80 first. A knights/soldier geared Mesmer probably has more damage than your Berserker geared one (and of course an 80 berserker is far above it).

Unless your going to lead in WvW I don’t think you really need to worry to much.

Confusion you may enjoy more (maybe even rack up more kills) with your pay style but I dunno WvW very well nor how effective confusion even is since the nerf.

As for trying to L2P… Well solo vets and champs higher levels than you. Then train in sPvP
