I just failed. Can you help? (Build Q)
You should be fine. On Wednesday, a large patch will be going through that will make Condition Damage mesmers more viable (through the Chaos tree).
I would suggest taking the new Bountiful Interruption (instead of the new Chaotic Interruption) along with Staff Trait. This will allow you to use Chaos Storm more often and will easily grant you massive amounts of Might stacks (if the leaked patch notes are correct). That will boost your Condition Damage and Power, which will then lend a hand in using your iWarlock and autoattacks in dealing damage.
Well, here are my thoughts. You really did a number on yourself since even pve condie builds use rabid gear for sharper images. Since carrion has no crit, that won’t work well. Essentially you’ve crippled yourself from a damage perspective. The logical step, therefor, is to make a build for which damage is not the highest priority.
I’m thinking you’ll want to run a version of jportell’s protection master. Take sword+torch and staff. 10/20/30/0/5—put the last 5 points wherever you want. You could even take 5 out of illusions or domination to inspiration for vigor on shatter.
The way this build works is you are a boon dispenser with prismatic understanding and signet of inspiration. You can actually trait for signet cooldowns to increase the frequency of the share. Most of your damage will come from staff clones and debilitating dissipation, which gives you a chance for a 3 stack aoe bleed when a clone dies. Your damage won’t be great, but your support will be very strong.
That would work. Remember, I am a solo player, so my thoughts were more towards X/Focus + Staff for AoE interrupts. You’d probably want to roam in small groups and then just control as much as possible. You could even go solo, but the build would be terrible vs 1vX, it’s only really even fights that it’ll work out (my way, that is).

He is looking for PvE build, going by the post.
Problem with conditionmesmers are that the class isn’t really capable of maintaining reliable sources for any conditions except for confusion and vulnerability.
Your gear should be just fine, you won’t be able to rely on sharper images for applying bleeds due to the simple fact that you’re, as pyroatheist is saying, missing the necessary crit for it. Give it until the update arrives and see how well you can maintain torment, odds are your build will work just fine with your current gear.
I dont really think torment will be that strong in PvE since movement is required for its full potential damage. It will end up like the confusion condition :-(
Do not panic, wait the patch out before deciding what you can do.
Condition Mesmers were average until the staff bouncing logic got messed up. If that was working well (preferring you for the bounces) the fury buff itself would help keep your critical chance at a good rate for sharper images.

…….
i can tell you something….
Once you have your first exotic set whatever it is, getting another is really easy.
Expecially since what you want comes from cof1 (but even if it didnt would be easy)..
In short, unless you already spent your currency on ASCENDED stuff you are fine, just start to play dungeon (get equip AND gold).
Also you will be glad to have 2 armors if you play both pve and www means more versatility and more gamestyles….
you would ve probably got the other equip anyway later as most players do.
A PvE player is supposed to avoid a 1-2 second 1 shotting aoe.
A WWW player is considered uncapable of avoiding a 5,75 second aoe for half his health.

I’m not so sure I agree with your take on torment, but we’ll see what happends.

Torment will be a 3 stack of bleed once every 12 seconds for 8 seconds in the best case scenario (on average). Nothing wrong with it, but that won turn condie Mesmer into a viable build all of a sudden.
Considering this game is the easiest game in mmo history to gear up in I would just build a zerker set.
You could just farm CoF for a few days and get a nice set of Rampager or Zerker.
I’m sorry for your loss. I’m sorry for the loss of condition mesmers.
If it makes you feel better I have full sets and weapons of Rampager, Carrion and Rabid that I’ve barely touched since the nerf due to the fact that confusion now tickles. My bank looks like a grave of 40+ exotics I won’t get to use again.
I never cared for grinding CoF. After grinding a full set of, now retired, gear from it I now get all of my exotics from WvW badges. I’ve not tracked, it, but with the right profession and build I typically get at least 50 badges per night. A good night can net you upwards of 150 badges which is enough for one piece of gear.
Also, for getting gold outside of WvW, I like to run fractals on occasion since it at least has some variation and is a pathway toward the ascended backpiece.
