I was browsing the thief forums when I read this thread about a guy pleading for balance in the game (as if thieves need to be buffed for the sake of balance). Anyways the point is, in part of his post he was complaining about how overpowered Mesmers are because of our superior ability to dish out conditions (lol). Here’s his actual post:

“I once took 16 stacks of confusion with a few stacks of bleed, and some other stuff. I used two skills and took around 7k damage(just from the confusion I mean)”

This is why we are slowly but surely getting nerfed, my friends. What player in their right mind would continue to spam skills with 16 stacks of confusion?! God rest his keyboard.

Ignoring ofc that to use two skills before confusion falls off again – seeing how short it lasts – you need to really want to die. You can’t just fight normally, you need to actively spam-cast abilities.

The strength of heart to face oneself has been made manifest. The persona Carighan has appeared.

So what? That’s how confusion used to work. Still does. Only back then we’d stack high and drop people caught out before they realized what was happening.
