If you could only shatter 3 clones...
how would you get 5 clones at the same time? unless the 2 clones from the first shatter actually hit the target, you cant spawn the additional 2 clones and these 2 additional clones shatter only if cry of frustration is used after these 2 clones spawn.
and, if you spawn 2 additional clones before they hit the target, meaning.. the shatter damage didn’t happen with the first 2 clones. you can only play with 3 clones at a time
… at any given time, giving them turn order.
Meaning that if you explode 3 Mind Wreck clones then 2 Cry of Frustration clones at once, the 3 Mind Wreck clones will run to explode first THEN the 2 Cry of Frustration clones would run to shatter. Instead of all 5 running to explode at once.
What would happen to Mesmers in competitive play?

I’m not entirely sure what you’re envisioning changing. This would have no impact on normal shatter play other than annoying people for no good reason.
I suppose he means If mesmer could spawn many more clones but only shatter max three at a time.

It’s not a “clone AI” problem, it’s only why if you shatter them, swap and shatter another couple of clones immediatly (obtaining 2 clones immediatly by utility, dodge, chrono traits?) they run to the enemy why you’ve activated that skill. If you wait to active the skill they will wait with you before run to the enemy.
Where’s the problem?
