Illusionary Elasticity: Disappointed?
I don’t play any condition builds and I’m still looking forward to it.
Going to be a lot of fun with staff clones in any build.
I don’t think it’ll make a major impact to current builds but I’m still look forward to it. Would be funny if someone find this overpowered and ask to nerf this “bug fix” though.

You must be new here. That’s practically an axiom of balance in mmos.
I am pretty new to mmos. Which is probably the reason as to why I felt that IE is a nice bonus, not really a major impact on current builds.
Waaaaaaaait staff illusion staff autos will bounce??? Can the proc bleeds what about the autos bleed/burn/boons?
I usely include this in my support build, but where did you get that info?

And it does but only the retal part bounces. But i was doing pvp yesterday and got hit by a single mage for 6 stacks on one attack.
It was an isolated situation so i was thinking it was a bug? Or does the bug fix also fixes this too?
As part of the bug fixes in the new feature pack, IE will now work for your staff clones. This is something they said they would correct. See here for more.

I extensively tested the iMage awhile back with IE. The extra bounce depends on your proximity mainly. I’ve found that if you’re far enough away, the bounces will go between opposing foes. If you’re near enough they will come back to you. It’s honestly not an exact science but I was able to glean some form of consistency from it. Again this was some time ago but I imagine it still works the same.

It’s probably going to be the first build I test and try to work around.
I’m not much for direct confrontation, I’m more about trickery and deceit when it comes to Mesmer play. So having my staff clones hit like a truck because they finally fixed the trait fits right into that.
It has been confirmed. I’ve read it. I can confirm it. But who cares, see for yourself on patch day. Save us the trouble of digging up a link.
Oh and to OP, not excited, no. I’m not sure what class (properly built, properly played) is going to have a hard time dealing with a full staff clone user with an extra bounce.

For spvp I will try 3 builds:
First:
20/20/0/0/30 , staff+sc/p, rabid, lyssa, with IE and the new torment-on-shatter, rending shatters an shattered concentration in the dom tree.
Second:
20/20/0/0/30, staff+sc/torch, rabid, lyssa, with IE and the new torment-on-shatter, rending shatters and torch trait in the dom tree
Third:
0/20/20/0/30, staff+sc/pistol, rabid, lyssa, with IE and the new torment-on-shatter.
I cant really forsee wich one will be the best for spvp, esp. soloQ…
Im trying 0/25/25/0/20 out, first thing after launch

I’ll probably go back to my old condi-shatter (0/20/20/0/30, or 0/25/15/0/30). Staff/SC/Focus. Go figure, the IE fix might somewhat make non-Dueling condi builds workable.

Yes with on death clone traits and IE now working it means more condis and buffs for you or group with staff clones up. Staff clones are already the best clones and this will make them even better. I use IE now and in PvP and PvE it adds DPS because it bounces to target, back to you and then target again, now with clones doing this it should be vastly easier to apply conditions and boost DPS.
Of course there will be a lot of crying about it or OP claims some coming from people who hate staff in all regards but find this to be OP, hilarious.
Any chance condi or condi/shatter will be viable in PvE now? I doubt this change will make any difference since it doesn’t address the underlying problem with condi in PvE, but for those with experience, what do you think? I’d love to run a 0/20/30/0/20 build (linked in my OP), or some of the others you guys are posting.

Basically, this patch doesn’t address any of the reasons why conditions are not viable in PvE. It also doesn’t address any of the reasons shatter isn’t viable in PvE either.
Conditions just don’t do enough damage. Same with shatter. Shatter has burst, but actually low sustained damage. Conditions just…don’t do even close to as much damage as power. Even less when you consider the condition cap.
Yeah, it’s sad but true. Very lame. Since I solely play PvE, I was hoping for some new build options. Oh well.
Hey guys, can you do me a favor? All of you who posted builds you want to try, can you quickly build them out in gw2skills.net and provide a link? Sorry, but majo trail choices aren’t obvious to me yet, so it’d be REALLY helpful for me to be able to see the build you’re talking about.
Also note what it’s viable for (PvP, WvW, PvE etc)

All, please take video of how it’s still bugged and post to bug thread. They didn’t address it so it’s not like they messed up a fix, but it’s still important for them to know that we want it corrected.

Well, that killed any and all enthusiasm I had for using my Mesmer, even if it is my main. Dark Souls 2 PC edition can’t come soon enough.

I was really hoping to see this change. Hopefully they’ll be able to make it happen.
