So you mean like a generic, boring greatsword? No thanks. I very much prefer what we currently have. It’s unique and creative.

I think a melee greatsword would be awesome. A long time ago I made a post for it. Asking for a trait that switched it to melee. Long before specializations was even a thought in my mind. Maybe one day we’ll have a specialization that does that. I look forward to it.

We already have sword for a melee range power weapon. I want GS to remain as a ranged weapon because its our only power option for ranged.

If we have a Sniper Greatsword then..

I want a Shotgun Shortbow cause that should count as a melee bow

However if what we are imagining are changeable skill slots for weapons then I’m all for that too.

In the past I have fantasised about playing Power shatter with Ranger Greatsword and Mesmer Greatsword on weapon swap.

Imagine – Mirror Blade + Blink + F1 + Hilt Bash + Maul…

kitten that would be sexy.

i thought mirror blade was a melee skill ;-)

Wouldn’t make sense. Nor would a hammer. Mesmers aren’t strong, using 2h melee would be silly.

They are strong enough to swing a greatsword with 1 hand while summoning a phantasm. If you ask me that’s pretty kitten strong. (not what you were talking about, but still)

Swinging it around and attacking with it are two entirely different animals.

I think you accidentally misspelled “boring, generic”. Also the same for “dread” instead of “imagine”.

I’d rather have a mele bow, similar used like a thief staf
