(maybe)
Edit: kicking kittens sounds awfully mean.
That is FANTASTIC!
I was a big flummoxed by the Rev’s healing potential. This game has, for so long, avoided a pure-focus on healing/support. Then they whip out this whole Legend that’s insanely focused on exactly that…
I’m really hoping that they’ve backtracked a bit and are enabling some more supportive play styles. Can’t wait to see the changes!
Hahaha what I was thinking is that they’re adding a 15-20 second ICD on the new Sigent of Inspiration on phantasm summoning trait…

I thought it had the same cooldown (separate timer, but same length) as our existing Signet of Inspiration. Was it shown as being a no-cooldown trait? That seems crizazy strong
I was just on my way in to post about this. I think we all knew that there would be trait tweaks before the specialisation release, but it’s nice to have confirmation and a specific call-out about Inspiration.
I would be amazed if Inspiration was no longer “the phantasm line”, even though they’re already sawing that one with the traits they stuffed into Chrono and Illusion. Thing is, I don’t like traitlines locking you into specific skillsets, we got few enough overall skills as it is.
Inspiration as the “support line”, I can get that. So with any luck they focus it less on the phantasms and more on support in general.

I agree completely. I loved the necro’s Reaper line: top traits focus on this, middle focus on this, and bottom focus on this. Mix and match if you want.
I’d love to see us have that kind of organization. Top line for phantasm, middle for shatter, bottom for utility/support. Keep the minors generic and independent of a particular play style (don’t force phantasms on all three).

I also agree. It would especially be good to have something like that in Illusions, which is a bit lacking shatter-wise in its adept and master traits. It’s a shame really, because the Master of Fragmentation trait could be a good alternative to a Chronoshatter build.
Sounds like “Robert Gee” maybe the best thing to happen to Mesmer’s since its inception!
I guess they suddenly got inspired to improve it.

It doesn’t have an ICD in that_shaman’s spec calculator on dulfy.

True. That could be due to the limited information we got during the stream or because the actual trait has no internal cooldown. We’ll have to see how it’s balanced on release, and they were very clear about saying “these are still in progress!!!”
That said, I can’t imagine a GM trait being that powerful compared with its utility skill counterpart. I suppose it could happen though! Idon’t recall if the Chaos Storm on Falling Damage or the Feedback on Res have ICDs, and those skills have similarly large base cooldowns for their Utility counterparts.
In short- we’ll have to see!
To add on a quick afterthought- I like the trait a lot. It encourages phantasm SUMMONING rather than phantasm “get 3 up and don’t cast any other illusion skills”. Anything that promotes skill use rather than passive combat is a win in my book.
Good stuff – interested to see what they do to all the minor traits.
Please let it include Temporal Enchanter…

I guess the trait would still have some ICD but right now kitten icd makes it useless. 15-20s is about right as most of our phant summon skills are on 20s cd. So there’s a synergy there.
I would suspect the Signet itself will get reworked too and probably its cooldown would be reduced to match with the gm trait as well.

Man I hope so! I’d love a little signet buff. Those are some of our most useless skills. :-/ Fingers crossed that they get a bit more… exciting. I really hope Signet of Illusions recharges continuum shift in some way and serves as a baseline for power for the others. I can’t believe we have a signet dedicated to 10% boon duration and a small AoE blind. bleh! who uses that? bleh.
Good to see they listen:

I don’t really mind and the line could use it…
But I’mma be a bit sad if I can’t try out shatter with condi clear and heals trading off dmg~ dunno if viable but it might be fun :3
(that being said… dangerously close to another cele build… Maybe better off this doesn’t exis?)
Fingers crossed for non-awful Compounding Celerity…
I hope this doesn’t mean super nerfed, because imo a few traits looks really strong. With base IP, heal on shatter and condi cleanse on shatter look great. Thinking those along with menders for a sweet shatter build with really good survivability.
Yes though some traits look dumbed also, basically the phantasm ones lol. I just hope they don’t leave us in the dust in terms of self sustain.
Keeping my fingers crossed!
Restorative Illusions, Shattered Conditions and Menders were in decent spots with maybe the first needing to be AOE.

My modest wishlist is:
- Better Compounding Celerity.
- Flashier Temporal Enchanter (or move it down some tiers and add a new GM).
- A Mender’s Purity alternative for folks who like longer-cooldown heals like Ether Feast. (I’ll probably be rocking MP all day every day, but it doesn’t hurt to have options.)
