I used to have a blast playing power-shatter, and while I’ve been struggling to adjust to condition-shatter I have had some success. However, fighting anything with high sustain (Engineer/Scrapper, Druid or Revenant/Reaper) feels completely and utterly pointless.

The risk vs. reward factor just isn’t there and I’ve been considering swapping classes. It feels like anything Mesmer can do (outside of Portal/Moa) any other class can do better and more effectively with far less effort.

I don’t even remember the last time I saw a player use wells. The sustain factor of the other classes just seems to make it feel like playing any sort of burst build/class completely and utterly unrewarding because you lose out on lots of condition removal and the margin for error is extremely low.

In a +1, you should be able to kill Druids.

1v1, you should be able to kill mallyx revenants. Let alone +1.
Glint Shiro is quite a bit tougher, but still manageable.

Need advice on condi-shatter? Go watch Lord Helseth, hes been playing this stuff non stop for the last few days. Plenty of learning material.

I find mallyx rev super hard for me. The only chance is to strip their resistance by sword autoattacking.

Scrapper is possible to beat 1v1 but most of the time it is stalemate

Even if you beat a scrapper 1v1, which would take ages and you’ll undoubtably be +1’d eventually, scrapper offers more to his team than you do.

You can’t even use the moa argument against scrapper, scrapper can moa as well.

Sorry, I’ve been playing mistrust + powerblock. So the resistance usually just gets ripped off.
Not to mention I still mainly play power mes. And power mes just has to force mallyx revs off shiro.

I’m playing PU condimancer and not doing too bad. To be a Mesmer is to be underpowered. It has been so from the beginning and anet wills that it remain so.

Well, at least we are definitely better than guardian and warrior in this meta. Probably even on par with ranger and thief. This is already much better than my expectation.

For me the top 4 hard/long fights are hammer scrapper, druid, reaper, and DH with power shatter. Talking about illusions and phants a lot of a +4 or +3 shatter damage is lost to aoe before they hit. Scrapper and reaper are difficult to get close to for a +4 shatter. Shatter is sub-par in the current elite meta.

i am even not shure if cronomancer is the best choice for building a mesmer. Shure usually elite are better but after the alcatricity nerf i am not convinced it is the same for mesmer.

Alacrity did get a heavy hit, but Chronomancer also brings “traited speed” and “Continuim Shift”. Those are kind of hard to pass up.

Cos Condi Mes can cope with Mallyx Rev. I duel against an excellent rev main and so far have yet to have any problems, however it might be that he hasn’t had time to learn to play against it. Even so, Condi Mes has the ability to clear any conditions, it doesn’t function that much on boons and has the ability to outkite… I don’t really see why they shouldn’t be able to beat a Condi Rev.

Cos Condi Mes can cope with Mallyx Rev. I duel against an excellent rev main and so far have yet to have any problems, however it might be that he hasn’t had time to learn to play against it. Even so, Condi Mes has the ability to clear any conditions, it doesn’t function that much on boons and has the ability to outkite… I don’t really see why they shouldn’t be able to beat a Condi Rev.

Because a good condi rev will have a very high upkeep of resistence. If you are taking Domination for boon removal, thus probably going hybrid, you will be alright but otherwise you aren’g going to do damage.

A condie mes that doesn’t take domination can still technically kill a mallyx rev, but it’ll take an hour or two if the rev is property up keeping their resistance.

Mesmer as a base class is bottom or one of the bottom of every barrel.

Chrono is skirting that position too as depending on raid comp there is no need to bring a chrono anymore for buffing.

Mesmer is fun but if you want a class that is fun and competitive then look elsewhere.

From someone who loves running Mesmers since day #1, the answer to “Is Mesmer inferior to other classes atm?” is Yes.

I have played Mesmer as my main for a long time and at one time it was a great class but from the updates they have killed it. You can’t stand one on one to any other class anymore. It was supposed to be equal across all classes but with every update they have made it very uneven to the point I have stopped playing as much PVP and WVW which has made me starting to get bored unless I learn another class…….
