Hey guys & girls,

I’ve been leveling a Mesmer the last couple of weeks after a very long break. I’ve not had a lv80 character yet due to when I stopped playing which wasn’t too long after release.

I’m loving the Mesmer but I’m a bit confused with what spec to go. I will mainly be doing PvE and WvW. I’ve been looking at the forums but can’t see anywhere that gives me a full picture I.E. weapons, traits and gear stats. I’m a fairly capable player just new to high end.

If any one can give me some links or advice I would greatly appreciate it!

Congrats on 80! You’re now playing a completely different Mesmer than when you were leveling. There’s so many options for our builds, it’s a bit to sort through all at once.

Fortunately, Fay has done a great job of compiling a list of builds for the mesmer community. Most all of them have build editor links so you’re able to get the full picture.

I recommend: Lyssa’s Grimoire – the Mesmer handbook

It’s stickied, and as such pretty easy to skip by accident :P.

It should have everything there is to know about Mesmers. Everything.

Or if reading walls of text isn’t really your thing, you can whisper me in game, and I’ll give you slightly smaller walls of awesome text.

It really depends what you are looking for.
If you want to go for the most optimal build or for build that you will enjoy playing.

PvE dungeons/fractals the optimal build is pure DPS phantasm Zerker gear with scholar , sw+sw/sw+focus(pistol)

For WvW the current “meta” are PU condition (rabid) builds because they are very forgiving.

That said WvW has a big build variety for Mesmers so feel free to experiment.
Look at the builds in the sticky thread. There are going to be some new popular builds due to today’s change so read the threads.

Also if you are interested, join our OMFG guild, even if people are not representing, they will respond to whispers and help.
