So what trick should be used to always be sure to win vs a PU mesmer as a shatter mesmer ?

They are more tanky, they spend more time in stealth, they deal decent dmg and in such a fight their mistakes are more forgiving, so any idea would be welcome, thanks.

You have to be pretty aggressive if you’re going to win. Try not to cleave too much. Also when they stealth make sure you stop auto attacking. It’s actually a pretty hard match up that you’re usually better off not facing.

its actually suprisingly easy, the trick is they do decent damage over time as you try to attack them so the best thing to do is ONLY attack in bursts when all or most of your cooldowns are up. PU cant actually put that much preasure on you unless u are trying to kill them so only make trades that u come out on top for example burst which u win, so burst kite burst kite and repeat if u fight with the right mindset it makes it alot easier.

Against Power/Hybrid/Phantasm PU: No chance.

Against Clone-death PU: Play it safe, don’t rush in head first, grind them down and look for an opportunity to burst. A good way to make them panic is to get hit by Confusing Images, run into the scepter block on purpose or just blow up a lot of clones and give the stacks back via Arcane Thievery. You have to be sure to hit because otherwise you are screwed, but if it does, most are pretty helpless.

Not sure how you figure this. Most PU condition builds run with at least one source of condition removal: traited torch. That’ll drop high intensity conditions pretty effectively.

I personally run with the pDisenchanter as well. I don’t die to conditions when I play that build unless I have the equivalent of a full condie engineer + necromancer loading me up simultaneously… and I’m out of defensive cooldowns.

Yep. As per others Power PU should still win, but condi PU is beatable with good targeting and kiting.

Then there ofc is PU power 10-20-30-10 alt 0-30-30-10-0 who is close to immune to conditions due to mantra heal clean x 2 every 10 sec + a utility condi clear (like pyro say alot pl ppl run pDisenchanter aswell). With generosity on 2 weps and 40% less condi food travaler runes I have had see how a condi build can take this down in a open world fight. A shatter build it al depends on how tanky the PU build play, 1800-2k toughness is common (what I run atm in group fight) and this is rather good defense ~3k.

I run 10-20-30-10 as well. I think it’s the best build for roaming. The only down side is that it’s not as good kittenter when you are trying to bomb a cluster of noobs. Then again I can’t see your build maybe it’s different enough that you found a way to do that as well.
