I think they spent a big chunk of the stream on WvW changes, but this part got my attention:

Guild Banners – Defiance bar reduced. Refill time increased. Not allowing profession skills like Mesmer’s Continium Shift to affect them. Lots of nerfs to their skills.

Yep, you read that correctly, “lots of nerfs to their skills”.

I think we pretty much know what will happen next week.

RIP Mesmers.

Pretty sure I responded to the reddit comment already, but just so its in both places, learn how to read. The note is talking about banner skills. There’s even a nerf example of turtle banner right under that.

They didn’t go “yeah, so, profession skills like mesmer’s F5 aren’t supposed to affect guild banners. On a side note, kitten mesmers, worst people in the game, I would burn their houses down if I could. They are just awful, and I don’t know why we have them. Wish we had Ritualists instead.”

Like Dethl said, I think it was for the banners, not for the mesmer.

The mesmer part was only the CS, which makes sense.

On the actual topic of the balance changes.

Those banners were so ungodly OP it’s not even funny.

The dragon banner’s auto attack is Revenant’s hammer 2. Like, the kitten ANet?
Pretty sure Centaur banner’s auto attack gives stability. Again, the kitten ANet?

I’d like it more if the banners were removed.
They’re literally cancer, and help ruin the game mode during prime times.

Especially against larger servers that like to BM (Looking at you Maguuma).

But, I’m glad they’re at least trying to balance the bloody things. And I’m glad for points on kill.
Rally cap is probably going to end up being changed again in a while. I agree rallying is very strong, but only 1 off of a rally seems a bit harsh. 2-3 seems reasonable.

@Changes: Any nerfs to banners are welcomed. Those stupid usables are nothing but bad news to a game type that doesn’t need much more bad news to kill it off completely.

No they didn’t actually come out and say “kitten mesmers.” They meant it though.

I found it very interesting to here “Sunfish” and “rom” of Spookie and Orange Logo respectively kitten about Mesmers. Sunfish went so far as to say he was glad to see us gone.

That tells me that ANET bowed to the pro teams. It also tells me that all that noise about not balancing around pro teams was untrue.

I bought HoT to have a competitive Mesmer.. ANET took my money, then slammned Mesmer right out of contention. I’m feeling like I got pretty ripped off.

We just saw a preview guys. Wait for the complete patch notes and see what will come.

Agree 100%. It’s no longer a stupid conspiracy theory, we have a pattern now.

I wonder where Robert Gee is? How does he feel about all the good work he put in are being torn to pieces? Well, at least he can be proud of reapers, they are even getting more buffs.

This. Totally this. These Anet guys are out to get us. There’s only one solution. Quit the game, delete it off our hard drives, and never play anything with a “Mesmer” by Anet in it ever again.

I hear support refunds HoT purchases if you submit tickets too.
