Guild Wars 2

I’m new to the guild wars community and mainly to this style of mmorpg and so far the community is awesome. I have been struggling lately with the fact that I get completely destroyed in 1v1 fights in pve and sPvP. I have seen many an ele do 20k nuke damage while my shatters tickle them even when trained for optimal damage. So I have come here to seek advice on a tanky bunker build that utilizes mantra of healing and the mantra that gives stability ( I envy the idea of laughing as countless foes try to knock me back)! I understand the concept of the mesmer, but I am a strong believer in two things: 1) rules were meant to be broken (except at the airport) and 2) limitations breed creativity. With that in mind I am looking for a build that says “no” to most forms of incoming damage and instead says “my turn.” I know my damage output will probably be underpar, but I’m just looking to utilize our defensive skill as mesmer since when they are paired with clones… It’s practily GG. One option: if you read down the list of links there’s a “How to fight a D/D ele”. That’s a good place to start. As for your specefic build… the login server just went down so I’ll look into it.

I would look in the Mesmer forums. . . there are several great threads about Immortal Mesmer builds and Bunkering etc. Good luck.

Not saying it’s the best. In fact it’s untested and kind of slapstick. It’s pretty much a duelist build. Sword/sword to utalise daze (sword 4 tapped twice), along with all your other daze skills (F3 and mantra of distraction). You’ve got good armor (and can have more depending on what you want from gear), good health, and hit really hard. The idea is to get your clones up and start dazing/interupting your target. Shattering is also a boon stipper. So pretty much this build is an ele killer. You’re not lost for condition damage either, so a switch to staff and some defensive play means you can harass your enemies further.

You don’t have to but you can utalise Mass invis for some mantra recharge time. Signit of Illusions will A: keep your illusions alive longer, and B: allow you to instantly recharge your F3 daze. That said, you can swap pretty much anything out you want.

I dont have any tank builds but 1 of my burst builds is extra hard to take down with passive defense, high upptime on defenses and alot of acctive defense. As said, no tank/bunker build but a soldier mesmer build. No mantras thu but shatter heavy.

Get Power/Vit/Toughness gear, and Phantasmal Protector.

The correct build for you really depends on what you are looking for. The seven mirror build can be adapted to be a bit tanky, and focuses more on condition damage. Osicat’s heavy build can take some punishment, but still has the capacity for a powerful burst.
