To be used for World Completion. Yes, it can be argued that every weapon set is viable for PVE. However, I’m no pro at Mesmers and am hoping to finish world completion as efficiently as possible while soloing. I would appreciate a little guidance on how this can be best approached.

I’d say practically anything as long as you used traveler runes or centaur runes in your armour. If you don’t then put 20 points in inspiration to trait your focus so you have more swiftness uptime from temporal curtain.

Beyond that … well I’m sure people here have a ton of builds to suggest.

I don’t know, even after all the time and changes to the game, I still run Lazy Kai in open world. Perma switfness, best AoE tagging power for events, ranged mayhem and massive shatters for all those weak mobs out there.

I’ve been running a more phantasm-focused build (in the hopes that it will help in the Orr zones) but I’ll give Lazy Kai’s build another shot.

I’ve also been using torch for the WvW zones. Almost tempted to put 30 points in Chaos for the stealth buff but I’ll worry about that later.

Phantasms need too long to recharge (as most builds won’t get 25 deep into Illusions, or are melee, which sucks for world completion). Most mobs just die too fast, even in Orr. Shatter is the way to go in open world.
