Looking for the new Mesmer condi build
With the IC change, I think this is a great idea. I think the build will also work decently with GS (instead of staff), given the bleeds that GS clones can stack. Will definitely give this a try in WvW!

The staff is the key part of this build imo. I would replace the sep/pistol before I got rid of the staff
Even with the new IC change, any PU build that has it and IC would have to give up either Menders Purity or Deceptive Evasion, and I’m not willing to go down either route.
I was running a 1/2/3/1/0 build before, and will likely go with 0/3/3/1/0 for a bit.

For me in WvW (mostly wide open spaces), I don’t like how slow the staff projectile is. Plus, the staff phantasm is based on power and doesn’t add to the Condi pressure much. GS also adds a cripple, which helps catch runners – staff makes them run, but you’ll never catch up once they do.
Definitely not saying staff is bad by any stretch – just that, for me, GS does what I want (in WvW) more than staff.

I played about with 0/20/30/0/20 just after the patch in WvW. On getting max stacks, 5/5 guard buffs, using full ascended trinkets/weapons bar the pistol, and a Sigil of Bursting you end up with 2,299 condition damage before any might stacks from Bountiful Interruption. I was running this on my Rabid/Perplexity set, it’d be even higher with Scavenger/Undead, kinda silly. A Chaos Storm on a couple of guys or befriend some staff Guardians and your condi damage will hit 3k+ with the might stacks.
here you go mate

Think of the staff as more of a semi-melee weapon and you will the potential.

Sure, and if you can keep your opponent in range, it works great. All I was saying is that GS works great with this build as well (clones/iZerk cause a bunch of bleed stacks), and you get the added bonus of the cripple when folks try to run.
Like I said, not bashing the staff – but this build works pretty well for me in WvW using the GS instead of the staff.

Hey Bazeleel, i too tried the 0/25/30/0/15 build initially post Dec. 10th. On paper it sounded like the best of both worlds – countless + blackwater fusion FTW! First thing i found was that PU really wasnt all that great in this set up – no use of viel or torch makes it really kind of sub par – you really only get the synergy of that with blackwater sword/pistol + scepter/torch set up. I then went to sensitox’s build of 0/30/20/20/0 which felt better, is EXTREMELY tanky, but kinda lacked some burst condi potential. Since then i have switched to 0/30/20/0/20 and im loving it.

The thing with condi mesmer is pretty much anybody can win a duel with it, its extremely strong in 1v1 right now. The hardest match up you will get is vs. a good necro as they continually transfer the condi’s back at you and you really can’t burst them too fast.
The trick to this condi style is learning HOW to add some burst to it – don’t just win the fight, learn to win it as fast as humanly possible. Sometimes ill switch to arcane thievery and signet of domination if i want a little extra punch in a duel when roaming.
Weakness of this build i find is it lacks in group fight synergy in comparison to other builds/classes.
I also find that scepter is a tricky weapon… with the clone generation available to you with all those cooldowns, its tempting to play the build similar to countless’ clone death style where you spam clones and kill them FAST for DD proc – in which case the sword is a better option as its melee clones and they die easier. Scepter clones are trash, i try my best to avoid auto attacking with the scepter if at all possible.
Hope this helps! PS you can also swap out undead runes for lyssa if you are feeling like you are dying alot to condi’s.

Looks pretty fun for sPvP or WvW roaming.
I would agree about the Lyssa rune change.
