Mesmer overpowered and unbalances teams
…
the many clones that he creates is not the problem, but the damage does not match with the clones, it does op damage and op clones,
…
Have you considered killing the clones and/or phantasms?
I’m confused about the “it does op damage and op clones”. I know lots of professions which do equal or greater damage than a mesmer clones. Which I suppose makes this entire thread invalid.

Notably warrior, which is hand’s down the most powerful class for damage; and the OP is a warrior xD

They probably think the clones do as much damage as the mesmer, or something else ridiculous to that effect.
Random rants without facts to back a silly OP statement is rubbish. Haiz….eg mummy mummy i got pawned nerf the mes lol. This what it really happen here, shows over guy nothing here to see, just silly comments.
What I’m finding most irritating in the continued barrage of abuse towards mesmers, is that people are failing to combat the fundamentals of the profession.
99% of all mesmers use Sword as their primary method of attack, it is therefore logical to keep them at range. Considering clones and illusions require travel time to shatter on you, it couldn’t be any more apparent for a need to stay at range (or at least keep the clones/illusions away from you)
Alternatively, if you insist on going toe to toe with a mesmer do so in the knowledge that you can immobilize and stun them heavily, to mitigate Blink, Decoy or Mirror Images. Further, ensure you have at least one AOE attack to spike down their first set of dodge-created clones or double-blow out from Mirror Images.
Fighting a mesmer is difficult, undoubtedly, but the amount of PUG players who fail at the very basics – and then complain – when there are countless counter methods against them is unreal.
In line with all the above, I expect any profession whom specialises entirely in Power or Precision to hit hard. As a mesmer who does this (2100 Power, 50% crit chance) it’s also frighteningly apparent how easily I can die (a single 100b will kill me if caught without stun break or dodge). This is a fair trade off.
So before asking for nerfs and claiming the profession is overpowered, put in to practice the many available tactics that see us killed. Alternatively, play and learn a mesmer for first hand experience.
All professions are capable of dealing frightening levels of damage (yes- even condition focused builds) but expecting to be able to counter every single build is also impossible. I feel this reason is also why many people feel the mesmer is too powerful; they don’t take the traits, skills or items fundamental in countering them.

You ask too much from these people.
Why bother to research and understand the gameplay, which could take hours of google-fu, when you can just make a post on the forums consisting of a word-salad with the same vocabulary as an illiterate Call of Duty player?
Ancient proverb say you cannot beat what you do not understand.
Translated into words you might understand; learn how to beat a Mesmer as a Warrior and you’ll be able to beat Mesmers as a Warrior.
Translated further still; play better. You’re a Warrior.

The main issue I have had in WvW is that their clones/illusions/phantasms load in but the actual character stays invisible. Giving me an idea where he/she is but not allowing me to actually target the mesmer. This is not really a mesmer to blame for just the issues WvW is bringing along in Guild Wars 2 with phased out players even when you’re surrounded and they are all able to target you, you still don’t have to see these people yourself.
Nerf toasters, buff forks. Tbh silly qq tears post demand silly answer. Several classes are strong, what make a opponent op compared to you thu is the person behind the keyboard.
Its not a 1 vs 1 game eather.

When the clones do large damage consider it our adrenaline burst ability. It has a cd and it has a telegraph (clones run in). It’s no more op’d than 10k+ eviscerates. In short, l2p.
Can’t agree more with lewis though, people want to melee us when we’re most dangerous in that situation.

Blanket statements by random bads that provide no proof, no evidence, no nothing but lies and slander. I can make false accusations too, watch: Warriors one shot my 80 full exotic geared Mesmer and Thief, I have no chance to react, blah blah blah. See how easy that was? See what I did there?
