MH Sword should be full condi.
I’m not sure what problem that solves but its good to know it solves it.
I’d prefer everything be hybrid and allow the player to choose which damage type they want to focus on through gear stats.
Sword already has vuln, and a suggestion would be merging the “never made it” reworked confusing combatants into a trait that applies confusion on critical hits for melee weapons only (maybe Fencer’s Finesse? Or just put it on MH sword directly?)
Dumb idea.
Sword only needs a further 10% more damage in all stages of AA, and 25% more damage with BF in WvW/sPvP.

It’s such a crappy weapon though. The amount of times I’ve gotten downed by MH sword in PvP (for example) is like zero. Anyone with half a brain knows to bring a stun break and pop before Sword 3 is used, so there goes that lovely 100% buff. You’ll get lucky to strike a foe with 2nd or 3rd stages of sword 1. Well, sword 2 is just pointless respectfully.
The only good to come from the patch is raid groups. Otherwise, it’s still worthless. Upping the direct dmg isn’t going to save it. You need to make it full condi so hits apply something that’ll last longer and effectively deal more damage.
Anet has a chance to make a legit cleave MH with this rumor of an axe. Just don’t make sloppy skills like sword 2 or 3.
Making it a condi weapon won’t make it better though. We need it to remain a power weapon, if you want to improve it then improve its skills.
Possible suggestions.
- Allow Sw3 to still work after clone death like it used to.
- Allow us to move when in blurred frenzy at a reduced speed (probably around crippled speed).
These are just bullkitten but I hope you get the idea. If you have a problem with a weapon or a utility skill, suggest ways they could be improved instead of just saying we need yet another condi weapon

What?
Sword 3 is an immobilise, and even if stun breaks worked on it, you’d want to pop it after, not before.
I think he’s imagining a Power Lock > iLeap > Swap combo. So you break the Daze from PLock and then kill the clone before Swap fires, or something, or at least you have time to throw up a block before the back half of the shatter combo hits.
Which, fine, but the meta build for PvP Mesmer now is a condi shatter, and the above only applies to power shatter, which is out of meta right now for reasons entirely unrelated to the above combo. (And if you were gonna play a power shatter, obviously you’d bait out the stunbreak before actually going in for your combo.)

I’d do it the opposite way.
“Conditions” or “direct damage” are just flavors of “I’m a damage dealer”.
I’d make Power, Precision and Ferocity scale DoTs, and then just erase the lines between the two types of damage that way and get rid of the separate condition damage stat.
The type is then used as a point of class-balance and class-flavor, some classes use DoTs more, others use direct damage more.

Vuln still caps at 25 stacks, so in any kind of group content its normally capped. If they just changed the vulnerability on the AA into bleeding it would be a win for power and condi builds.
